The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) has had a rough time lately. As Y&R viewers know, Amanda was recently floored when she showed up at her birth mother’s home.
Amanda’s birth mom, Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey), had no idea that Amanda was even there, but Amanda stood outside the house and watched as Naya’s daughter Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) approached the door and called out to her mother.
Well, during the week of December 28 – January 1, Amanda will reel from her visit to Naya’s home, and from some other tidbits of information that her private investigator digs up on Naya.
As it will turn out, Naya’s family will have been into politics, and that will lead Amanda to conclude that Naya must have given up her twin babies while in college to avoid her family enduring a political scandal.
Amanda will be furious that she and Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) might have been given up for such a reason, and it seems that Amanda’s imagination will really run away with her.
It will bother Amanda that Naya chose to give up her babies when she and her family clearly had the means to afford them. Amanda will find herself turning bitter and resentful about the whole thing.
But what if there’s another explanation for Naya’s decision to give up her babies? This is the argument that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will make to Amanda as she mulls over whether she even wants to go back to Naya’s house and try to interact with her.
The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that Amanda will have to face a shocking truth about having been given up at birth, so it seems that a big reveal is coming when she finally does come face to face with Naya.
One possibility, albeit an unpleasant one, is that Naya might have been raped when she was in college, leading to her decision to give up her babies. That could certainly explain why Naya moved on with her life and had another child later, making the decision to raise that child but not her earlier twins.
If that’s the case, then Naya might not have even told her daughter Imani about rape or the fact that she has twin sisters.
Amanda could really open up a lot of old and painful wounds for Naya if our theory is correct. And Amanda would have to struggle with being the product of an assault, which could be very difficult for her to deal with.
But the story could take a positive turn if Naya and Amanda become close and can overcome the situation together. Amanda could just find the mother she always wanted, and Naya could finally get closure on what happened to her babies.
We’ll see what happens here, but it definitely seems like a shocking backstory will be told, and that Amanda will have to cope with the truth that she learns. Do you think that Amanda will learn that her biological mother gave her up because of an assault?
