The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) return to town has brought some interesting developments. Lily revealed that she’d moved on from Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) and had started dating again. She later laughed over some first date horror stories with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), so she clearly hasn’t found the man of her dreams yet.
Could Cane still be the one Lily belongs with? It’s tough to say. The Young and the Restless has been dropping some big hints about Cane’s potential guilt in the will scam. However, they’ve also got Lily hating the idea of Cane going to prison. There’s still some level of affection, especially since Cane’s the father of her children.
Lily pointed out that maybe Cane could work out a deal with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) if he’s guilty. She thought that perhaps Cane could be given a shot at redemption.
Devon, on the other hand, wasn’t keen on handing out any more chances. He argued that Cane should be shown no mercy, so this story’s at a crossroads. It all depends on whether Cane’s truly innocent or guilty as Devon believes.
Y&R fans know Goddard was a vocal supporter of the Cane and Lily pairing. He was also abruptly fired from the show, so these are important things to keep in mind. Would Goddard be interested in coming back to just trash his character?
Cane left on a heroic mission to find Devon’s money and make things right. Goddard might not be willing to return just so Cane can be guilty after all. Cane would look terrible! Of course, The Young and the Restless could easily do this portion of the story offscreen, but they have another option.
If Cane’s innocent and indeed gives Devon his money back, that might be something Goddard would pop in for – particularly if it led to his beloved “Lane” pairing being restored. Cane’s commitment to fixing this might remind Lily of the man she fell in love with.
Bottom line, whether Lily gets a new man or not may greatly depend on Cane’s guilt. It’s doubtful Lily would ever take Cane back if he scammed Devon, but she might if his hands remain clean. The Young and the Restless spoilers say some hot drama’s ahead no matter what, so stay tuned!
