The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) will again be a focal point. Her children, through John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), will find themselves pursuing another clue to their mother’s past.
A conversation between Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about Dina’s reference of Bixley will fuel a search. Jack and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will discover something that links to their parent’s budding romance that began many decades ago.

Jack was sporadically visited by his father’s spirit for many years following the loss of the Abbott patriarch in 2005. Douglas worked on a recurring contract for a number of years following his character’s earthly exit. But hardcore Y&R fans know that they haven’t seen John since 2016.
It’s seemed unusual that John hasn’t appeared to Jack, Dina, or both of his loved ones since Adams returned to the cast in 2017. Many references have been made to Douglas’ character, but no otherworldly appearances have taken place.

What could be the start of Adams farewell arc would seem to be the ideal time to have Douglas return to the cast. However, it’s reasonable to wonder if he’s able to do so due to any health concerns he may have, or because of current safety protocols that are being enforced following the resumption of production?
If it is possible, a truly memorable scene, or series of scenes, would have John appear to Jack and, or Dina. Having Douglas’ character escort Dina to heaven, whenever Adams’ storyline concludes, would be a beautiful way to end what has been one of Y&R’s most outstanding storylines in years.

Adams first credit came in 1961, when she appeared in the movie Splendor in the Grass. Her first daytime role came in 1963, when she played Mildred Deal in General Hospital.
She went on to play Belle Britton on The Secret Storm from 1968-1973, Helen Mullin on Generations in 1989 and 1990, Beth Logan on the Bold and the Beautiful in 1990 and 1991, and Claire McIntrye on Days of our Lives in 1999.
She earned numerous television and movie credits through the decades as well, with her most recent movie role being in 2019 when she played Nadine in Beneath the Leaves. Adams was cast as Dina on Y&R in 1984.
Douglas’ first credit also came in 1961, when he appeared as a gangster in the movie Blast of Silence. Like Adams, he also earned numerous TV and movie credits before being cast as John on Y&R in 1981.
