The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Thursday, August 27, tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will run into Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) at Society. Victor will share that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) took off in a bad state, but Nick will feel pretty certain that Adam will get through this.
Nick will blast Victor for keeping Adam’s murder of AJ Montalvo a secret for all these years, saying that he made things worse.
Nick will fume when he hears that Victor gave Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) the Newman jet to go to Kansas. Nick will argue that there are plenty of therapists out there, and that Adam is just taking advantage of Sharon’s big heart.
Nick will think that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) is the one they should be worried about, not Adam. Victor will keep defending his actions, and Nick will leave in disgust.
At the Kansas farmhouse, Adam will tell Sharon that he needs to stay there until he knows everything, but Sharon will insist that they leave for now. Adam will say that he remembered feeling overwhelming rage and anger as a boy, and that he wanted AJ dead. Sharon will tell Adam not to judge himself, since he was only an 11-year-old boy.
Sharon will get Adam to rest, and Adam will remain tortured by his memories. Sharon will vow to stay with Adam and support him. Adam will thank Sharon and walk out of the room, just as Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) walks in and confronts Sharon.
Chelsea will say that things are working out exactly as Sharon planned, and she’ll blast Sharon for not telling her that Adam was in Kansas.
Sharon will try to explain herself, but Chelsea will say that Sharon just can’t seem to let go of Adam. Sharon will say that right now, they need to focus on Adam. Chelsea will scoff, and Adam will walk in. Chelsea will walk over to Adam, telling him that they should go home, and she’ll turn to Sharon and say, “You’ve done enough.”
At the New Hope Clinic, Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will find himself irritated as Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) quizzes him about his recent date with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). Nate will get more irritated when he learns that Amanda and Elena have been talking about him.
Nate will note that he and Amanda are casually dating, and that someday he wants something as good as what Elena and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) have. Later, Elena will call Devon to say that she’s been thinking about him.
At the Grand Phoenix, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will meet, and Victoria will offer Billy some information that will guarantee more eyes on the Chancellor Communications news site.
Victoria will tell Billy the story about Adam killing AJ Montalvo, how Victor covered up the crime, and how Adam got the CEO position by blackmailing Victor with the story.
Victoria will say that Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) wrote the story initially, but that Adam killed it. Victoria will trust that Billy will be discreet, but Billy will note that Victor will eventually know that Victoria spilled the story.
“I can live with that,” Victoria will say. Victoria will say that the old guard is wanting Victor to “handle” what she’s doing at Newman Enterprises, and that spilling this story is her way of handling the competition.
At Chancellor Communications, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will sit Amanda down for a talk about Billy. Lily will be fishing for details about Billy and Amanda’s prior friendship, and Amanda will object to the third degree.
Amanda will say that there is no problem with her working with Billy. Soon, Billy will arrive and tell Amanda and Lily about the Adam/Victor story.
Lily will be interested, but she’ll be worried about Victor suing them into oblivion. Billy will want to run with the story, but Lily will continue to balk. Amanda will say that if they run it, they need proof. Billy will vow to find proof, but Lily will still be skeptical about the whole thing, thinking that it’s just a fairy tale of Victoria’s.
Billy will ask Amanda out for a drink to celebrate, but Amanda will turn him down, saying that her paycheck is enough payment for her skills. Amanda will go, and Lily will return and bicker with Billy a little more about the story. Billy will vow to get the proof needed for them to run the story.
Back at the Grand Phoenix, Amanda and Nate will meet for a drink, each taking a break from their busy days. Without giving specific details, Amanda will tell Nate about how Billy wants to take a big risk at work, and that he’s a risk-taker to the extreme.
Nate will think that Amanda and Billy seem to need each other and that they’re a team…like he and Elena are a team.
