The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, April 29, teases that some wild moments played out. Y&R offered up part two of Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) intervention as well as some other exciting drama from 2004. As Y&R continues to celebrate “Katherine the Great” week, we’ve got all the details on Wednesday’s Young and the Restless episode.
First, Katherine faced the desperate pleas of her nearest and dearest. Unfortunately, Katherine refused to stop drinking. After each of Katherine’s loved ones offer an emotional goodbye, she was left all alone on the couch.
A little later, Katherine received a visit from Rex Sterling (Quinn Redeker) and Phillip Chancellor III (Thom Bierdz). They implored Katherine to give up the booze, so she relented.
Katherine surrendered her glass, but she wanted Phillip and Rex to stay with her. They pushed Katherine not to rush to the other side. Once Katherine awoke, she was unsure of whether it was a dream or something else.
Across town, Christina Blair (Lauralee Bell) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) sparred over the bombs that had been dropped on Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). Phyllis played the blame game about losing custody years ago. Christine was disgusted by Phyllis’ actions, but Phyllis argued about how painful it was to lose her son.
Phyllis made it clear that Christine and Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) wouldn’t keep her from Daniel again. While Phyllis tossed around threats, Danny gave Daniel more details on the paternity situation. Daniel got updates on Phyllis’ manipulation and how she drugged Danny to trick him into thinking Daniel was his.
Danny also brought Daniel up to speed on the paternity test tampering, which Christine uncovered later. Since Phyllis was so unstable, Danny fought hard for Daniel. He won custody since he’d raised Daniel for so long.
Daniel was reassured by Danny, who insisted this didn’t change who Daniel was. Daniel remained overwhelmed and took off alone.
Next, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) wanted answers from Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell). Since Lily knew about Dru’s conversation with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), Lily wanted to know what was said. Drucilla wound up thinking back on her arrival in Genoa City – back when she met Aunt Mamie.
Dru considered the similarities between her background and Devon’s before reflecting on her growth.
Over with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Grace Turner (Jennifer Gareis), they clashed over the corpse found in the sewer. Grace was adamant about staying loyal to Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) and wouldn’t let Sharon scare her.
Sharon insisted she wasn’t going to go down for what Cameron did. She warned about Cameron potentially turning on Grace and pushed for the whole story.
Sharon urged Grace to offer details on the body and how Cameron tied it to her. As for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), he did his best to pry info out of Cameron. Nick noted how Cameron arranged to have the corpse found in hopes of implicating Sharon. Cameron pointed out that he knew about Sharon’s history because she opened up to him in Denver.
Nick figured Sharon’s rejection brought on this plot. He suggested that Grace had admitted they were out to destroy Sharon. Nick warned Cameron would be the next body in the sewer if the cops could connect the current corpse to Sharon.
Once the police identified the body later, they realized it was Frank Barritt (Phil Dozois). Of course, longtime Y&R viewers know Frank was Sharon’s ex and Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) biological father.
