Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers update for Wednesday, February 17, tease that Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) won’t want to waste another second. Xander will resolve to ask Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) to marry him on the spot – even though neither one of them will really be dressed for the occasion.
Xander will be sporting a black tank top and some sweatpants, so this seems like a spur-of-the-moment decision on his part. Sarah will be in her hospital scrubs, so she won’t exactly be all dolled up either! Of course, none of that will matter to Xander since he’ll be determined to make Sarah his wife.
Xander will have the engagement ring and will know in his heart that Sarah is “the one,” so he’ll explain the depth of his love and ask her to wed.
Sarah’s eyes will go wide before she grabs the nearby dessert box and suggests having cake instead! She’ll definitely be rattled over Xander’s sudden proposal, so this will require a deeper conversation.
Sarah may come clean about her fear that something will go wrong. After all, Sarah was on cloud nine with Xander until just before their first attempt at tying the knot. That’s when everything came crashing down.
Sarah learned her true daughter died and that Xander had switched the real Mackenzie “Mickey” Horton with Rachel Black (Josephine and Rosalind May). The rug was pulled out from under Sarah on her wedding day, so she may use that as an excuse not to accept Xander’s proposal.
Sarah might feel a sense of dread when it comes to another attempt at forever with Xander.
However, Xander has a knack for calming Sarah down and making her understand his perspective. He might insist he truly learned his lesson and wants to continue learning to be a better man.
Xander will surely gush about how much he adores Sarah and how she’s the reason he turned from his wicked ways.
In the end, Xander will convince Sarah to put her heart on the line. Sarah will let go of her fears and jump into Xander’s arms for a passionate kiss. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Sarah will ultimately accept Xander’s proposal and make him the happiest man alive.
It won’t be long until some “Xarah” wedding plans get underway, so DOOL fans will look forward to the fun next week, February 22-26.
Until then, we should talk about a far more somber occasion. Laura Horton’s (Jaime Lyn Bauer) encounter with Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) ended in a deadly blow, so she’ll need a funeral and a proper farewell.
Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) will still be in shock that Laura’s actually gone – and that Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) is standing by Gwen the grandma killer!
Jack seemed to have doubts about Gwen’s innocence at first, but he eventually assured Gwen that he believed her. It’s clear that Jack wants to make up for Gwen’s rotten childhood by giving her the support she needs now.
That’ll appall Abigail, who’ll want Gwen to pay for what she did to Laura. From Abigail’s perspective, this will be a murder that Gwen’s getting away with.
As Abigail fumes and mourns, she’ll get some comfort from Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn). Chad will wrap his arms around Abigail and shower her with the love she needs right now.
Abigail will accept that love despite her lingering anger with her husband. She won’t be ready to patch things up with Chad, but it’ll be nice to see these supportive “Chabby” moments anyway.
Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) will find out about Laura’s death via the news on her tablet, so she’ll bring Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) in the loop. Since Kate’s last interaction with Laura was so contentious, that may weigh on her a bit.
Jake will be there for Kate as the cuddle in bed – and afterward, Kate will let Abigail know she’s truly sorry for her family’s loss. As for Jake, he’ll mull over the story of Laura’s death and doubt that Gwen’s truly an innocent woman. Jake will suspect that maybe Gwen murdered Laura and lied to Jack.
Later, Abigail will attend Laura’s funeral with her loved ones. It’ll be tough to say goodbye, but that’s exactly what they’ll all have to do. Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) will find that task particularly difficult – and it’s doubtful that Jack’s support of Gwen will help.
Since there’s so much pain swirling in Salem right now, Jennifer will head to Boston. She’ll hope to clear her head and handle some of Laura’s final affairs there, so this will mark McClain’s final appearance for a while.
Fortunately, it doesn’t look like this will truly be the end of the road. Days buzz hints that McClain filmed some other scenes ahead of time, so she should pop up again at some point.
There might be a video chat or two somewhere down the line. In other words, McClain is done filming, but we haven’t seen the last of her just yet.
Other Days of Our Lives spoilers say Abigail will cross paths with Gwen in the cemetery. That encounter will rile Abigail up even further and lead to things getting out of hand between these half-sisters on Thursday, February 18.
Abigail will have no intention of letting Gwen get off scot-free when it comes to Laura’s fate.
As for Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus), she’ll tackle a new mission. Gabi will have to give her Gabi Chic spiel again now that Xander’s gone from Titan.
Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) will listen to Gabi’s pitch and weigh his options. Gabi will have two strikes against her since she’s untrustworthy and already sought Xander’s deal without Philip’s input.
Nevertheless, Titan could use some solid competition for Basic Black – and Gabi Chic could be exactly what they’re looking for. You can bet Gabi will point that out during her proposal, but Philip won’t be ready to give her a firm answer just yet.
The best Gabi can hope for is a maybe, and she’ll have to watch out for Kate’s sabotage in the coming episodes, too.
