General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) behavior is starting to make us wonder: Did Victor fake Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) Huntington’s disease test results as part of his plot to manipulate Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati)?
Victor created a fake medical symposium on inherited diseases, which was designed to lure Liesl to St. Lucia. Once Obrecht was in captivity, Victor mentioned that he knew about Britt’s Huntington’s disease diagnosis and explained how he used that to his advantage.
Victor also knew that Britt didn’t have any symptoms yet – and then he used the promise of seeing Britt as his leverage to try and make Liesl cooperate. Do you see the pattern here? Britt, Britt, Britt… It’s just an awful lot of focus on Liesl’s daughter and her diagnosis, isn’t it?
Not to mention it’s weird that Victor would even have confirmation on Britt’s Huntington’s disease marker. It’s also odd that Victor would know Britt didn’t have symptoms yet, especially when she seemingly had them before a doctor in Canada confirmed her tremors were unrelated.
Could Victor have been in touch with that doctor? Victor might’ve had someone following Britt and then paid or threatened the doc to give the results he wanted. He needed something with some emotional weight to it – something that he could use to control Liesl with.
Now Victor has been droning on and on about Liesl’s last surviving child. It’s possible this research project is some kind of ploy where Victor can be the one to “cure” Britt’s fake Huntington’s and win Liesl’s love.
Then again, it could be another project entirely, but the focus on Britt’s Huntington’s marker is strange any way you slice it. If GH writers are looking to undo Britt’s serious illness and inevitable fate, this would be a good way to do it.
Victor has already proven he’s willing to go to great lengths for the sake of his Liesl obsession. He’s had this scheme in the works for quite some time, so maybe Britt’s bogus Huntington’s disease marker became part of the plan. Obrecht threw Victor a curveball by pulling that knife on him, but he’s not the kind of man who gives up easily!
