General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) could regret their annulment for more reasons than one.
For starters, it’s clear that there are some lingering feelings between Willow and Michael. Although Michael and Willow made the mutual decision to move on, they obviously had torn hearts when they made that choice.
However, General Hospital spoilers say there’s another problem that’s brewing – one that’s far bigger than the conflicted feelings Willow and Michael are dealing with.
GH fans have to remember how Michael got into this mess with Willow in the first place. Michael needed to boost his chances to defeat Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) in court.
Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) wasn’t a suitable wife due to her shady history, but Snow White and Mary Poppins mashup Willow was just right. This was a marriage of convenience initially, which Sasha and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) pushed Michael and Willow into through their fake affair.
Of course, Nelle isn’t a threat now that she’s dead, so Willow and Michael wound up annulling the marriage – thus proving it was all a ploy to defeat Nelle in the custody battle.
Michael and Willow no longer had to worry about Nelle using that ploy against them. Dead Nelle can’t go to the judge and call foul while appealing for visitation rights.
Nevertheless, it’s probably no coincidence that Willow and Michael annulled their marriage right before Nina found out the truth about Nelle. Now Nina’s battling guilt over costing Nelle her child.
Nina’s about to go on a real downward spiral as a result – and her fury will be unleashed in some shocking ways.
Not only has Willow annulled her marriage to Michael, the adoption isn’t a done deal yet either. Nina may have some serious issues with Willow swooping in as a mom to Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson).
Nina may fear that Nelle will be erased completely or worse, totally tainted through whatever stories Wiley’s told by the Corinthos clan.
Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) had similar fears back when he approached Nina with the idea of giving her legal rights to Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez).
This was before Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) landed in a coma, so Valentin wanted someone like Nina to keep his memory alive in a positive way in the event of his death.
Now Nina finds herself in a similar situation as Nelle’s mother and Wiley’s grandmother. Nina was close to Nelle once upon a time and saw how she was actually pretty nurturing with Charlotte as her nanny.
Nelle had plenty of issues and a nasty side for sure, but Nina’s going to focus on the positives as her mom.
Are the pieces coming together for Nina to go after custody – perhaps after remarrying Valentin to bolster her case? Nina might think fair is fair since Willow and Michael used that tactic to rob Nelle of raising Wiley.
We have to remember that Nina’s about to be even more furious with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) once the cliff fall cover-up comes out. We’re also going to see the mob war escalate with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), which should add to Nina’s fears about Wiley’s safety.
Nina may derail Willow’s adoption of Wiley and try to remove the kid from this dangerous environment. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is presumed dead not too long ago, so Nina may have a case for why Wiley’s too close to the peril.
That’s especially true if Valentin throws some bribes around and tries to score Wiley custody to make Nina happy. Valentin doesn’t have a squeaky-clean past, but he’s a powerful businessman and someone who’ll stop at nothing to make sure Nina gets what she wants.
Nina could easily use Wiley to punish Carly and her crew in the coming weeks. General Hospital spoilers confirm that Willow and Michael will face some sort of new threat – and Nina just might be the answer to that mystery.
