The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman (Hunter King) is sure to be livid when she realizes Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is keeping a huge secret.
On the February 9 episode, Kyle confesses to his affair with Tara Locke. He spills to Summer about sleeping with the wife of the cruel mogul Ashland Locke, but he neglects to mention that he may have fathered Tara’s child!
Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) feels certain that Harrison Locke is actually Kyle’s son, so that’s obviously a detail of the story Kyle should’ve been upfront about.
Kyle’s setting himself up for trouble by deceiving Summer about his potential child, so what happens once Summer learns the whole truth?
This is bound to shatter the trust between Summer and Kyle, so it’s hard to imagine Summer standing by him initially.
Summer will probably break up with Kyle for concealing Harrison’s possible paternity. She’ll feel betrayed since they’re supposed to be a team, so Kyle may end up dumped and alone.
Of course, The Young and the Restless seems pretty committed to “Skyle” and their love story at this point. Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) hasn’t been in Kyle’s orbit for quite some time – and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is clearly being set up for a romance with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
Where does that leave Kyle and Summer? It could mean that something will happen to change the game all over again. Y&R writers might offer some twist that could salvage “Skyle” and pull them back together once more.
We can think of one easy way to make that happen. Could Summer ultimately realize she’s pregnant with Kyle’s baby? Summer might dump Kyle – only to realize she’s carrying his child.
If Harrison is indeed Kyle’s kid, Summer’s pregnancy would mean baby number two for this new dad. It could make a soapy situation and make it even soapier!
Kyle and Summer don’t have tons of other options swirling around for new relationships. If Y&R sticks with the Jack and Sally plan, Kyle and Summer will likely find their way back to each other. A new baby makes sense as something to bond Summer and Kyle together.
Summer might discover she’s pregnant and decide she can get past Kyle’s deception after all. This could be an opportunity to start fresh as a family and move forward.
If Theo got it right and Harrison belongs to Kyle, then Summer could provide a little brother or sister. It might set the stage for some great half-sibling conflict many years down the road.
