Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) abandoned Holly Jonas (Elin Alexander) for Africa, so this wannabe daddy deserves no sympathy. We really need to talk about the false narrative Days is pushing and call Eric out on a few things.
For starters, it’s weird that DOOL writers keep acting like Eric always wanted a child. Eric devoted much of his adult life to the priesthood, so that was clearly more important to him than having children.
Besides, Eric already had a kid that he abandoned. Holly may not be biologically Eric’s, but she asked if she could call him “Daddy” back in 2020.
It was understood that Eric, Holly and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) were going to be a united family with Eric filling that father figure role.
Eric had the ideal little fam, but he took off for Africa and made helping the villagers his priority.
Holly was stuck back in Salem missing “Daddy,” so Eric already robbed himself of a perfectly good chance at fatherhood.
Eric is still in Holly’s life occasionally, but he’s acting like she’s chopped liver with all this talk about always wanting a son or daughter of his own.
That’s also hurtful to Nicole, who can’t carry a baby to term.
If anyone should understand that biology doesn’t necessarily make a family, it’s Eric.
Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Eric call each other “brother,” so they share a close bond despite not having the same bio parents.
Of course, we should point out that the only reason Holly doesn’t have a biological father is because of Eric!
Days fans will recall that Eric got drunk and caused the crash that killed Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian), so he took Daniel away from both Nicole and Holly.
Eric should feel grateful and obligated when it comes to being a dad to Holly, but instead he’s obsessed with this accidental baby that Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) chose not to have – and it was indeed her choice.
Nicole was understandably shaken up over the pregnancy shocker and wasn’t thrilled about Jada being permanently tied to Eric.
Although Nicole gave Jada her honest opinion, she didn’t hold a gun to her head and force her to get a rushed abortion.
It’s unfair to hold Nicole responsible for Jada’s decision, so we have no sympathy for Eric – especially when “Daddy” spent so much time ignoring Holly.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Eric’s life is about to spiral out of control, but he only has himself to blame!
