Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, August 8, teases that Ava DiMera (Tamara Braun) got a murder bedroom surprise while Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) revealed the twin heart transplant outcome. Here’s how all the DOOL action played out
At the Salem PD, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) got updates on Shawn Brady’s (Brandon Beemer) baby heartbreak and shared her own struggles after shooting a perp dead.
When Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) appeared and saw how well they were getting along, he convinced Shawn and Jada to become partners.
Jada eventually spotted Shawn’s wedding ring, so he admitted things were complicated.
At the DiMera mansion, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) welcomed Ava and showed off her new bedroom.
Ava quickly realized this was the room Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) was murdered in, but EJ acted like it wasn’t a big deal.
In Li Shin’s (Remington Hoffman) hotel suite, he talked to Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) about her wildcard ally.
Gabi feared Ava’s decision to move in the DiMera mansion would lead to bad news, but Li offered reassurance and initiated lovemaking.
Over the phone, Gabi reminded Ava not to go against her or else she’d blow up the fake marriage.
Although Gabi couldn’t come through on the board seat, Ava still wanted the executive job.
Next, Rafe stopped by with some mail and grilled Gabi about all the “shacking up” she’d been doing with Li.
After Li emerged from the bathroom, he exchanged pleasantries with Rafe and agreed they should all have dinner together soon.
Once Li was gone, Rafe wondered how serious Gabi’s new relationship was.
Gabi admitted she liked Li, but Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) was the one true love of her life.
Back at the DiMera mansion, EJ met with Belle Brady (Martha Madison), who couldn’t find any record of a will for Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash).
Once Ava reappeared, she suggested that was too bad for EJ, but he acted like he merely wanted Jake’s wishes carried out.
Belle handed over a document to make the transfer of Jake’s shares complete, so Ava signed it and revealed she’d taken Jake’s last name to honor him.
Although EJ offered to put the stock certificates in the safe, Ava opted to hang onto them herself.
In the secret lab on Monday’s Days episode, Dr. Rolf assured Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) that Jake’s heart had been successfully transplanted into Stefan’s body.
Kristen was eager to wake Stefan up right away, but Dr. Rolf rattled off a bunch of reasons why it couldn’t happen just yet.
The main one was Stefan needed time to acclimate to his new organ, but Dr. Rolf assured Kristen her brother would awaken soon.
At the townhouse, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) distracted Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) from all their Kristen problems.
Every time Chloe said Kristen’s name, Brady planted a kiss and got her mind off her troubles.
Once Brady and Chloe decided to head to work, they opened the door and found Kristen standing there.
After Belle wound up at the Salem PD on Monday’s Days episode, Shawn gave her an awkward introduction to Jada.
Back in the secret lab, Dr. Rolf heard someone come in and assumed it was Kristen. Li revealed his arrival instead and caught Dr. Rolf off guard.
