Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 17, reveals that Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) brought Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) back from the dead. It was also revealed that Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) was injured in a skiing accident according to Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo).
At St. Luke’s on Tuesday’s Days episode, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) regained consciousness after the devil’s defeat and started asking questions about what happened. Allie eventually remembered hearing Tripp’s voice and wondered where he was.
While Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) got grilled by Allie, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) raced to Tripp’s side. Tripp was covered in cuts from the window he smashed through and clearly had severe injuries from the fall as well.
After Tripp got confirmation that Allie was safe and the devil was gone, he passed out. Tripp was then rushed to the hospital, where Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) worked to save him with the help of her medical team.
On Tuesday’s DOOL show, Steve was horrified over the news of his son’s ordeal and called Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) to tell her that Tripp had been hospitalized.
In the town square, Ava had a flirty conversation with Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) and seemed poised to get steamy with him at home, but they were interrupted by Steve’s tragic updates.
At the hospital again, Bo let Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) know that he’d been watching over the family. Bo also told Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) to let go of his fears about fatherhood and embrace the redemption he’d earned.
After Bo alluded to a sacrifice one man made to get rid of the devil, he bid Ciara and Ben farewell since he had something to do. Ciara was sad to see Bo go, but she cried happy tears since she always wanted Ben to meet her father.
Once Ava joined Steve at the hospital, they watched Kayla give up on shocking Tripp’s heart. Kayla insisted it was too late to save Tripp and that nothing more could be done.
Ava lashed out at Kayla and hoped she was happy now. After Ava acted like Kayla never wanted her to have a son with Steve, he pushed her to settle down out of respect for Tripp.
Meanwhile, Jake gushed over Ciara and Ben’s baby. After Jake filled them in on Tripp’s hospitalization, Ciara realized Tripp might be the man that Bo was referring to.
Ava cried over Tripp’s body and climbed in bed next to him before getting some comfort from Jake. Word started to spread about Tripp’s death, but Bo’s spirit appeared in Tripp’s room and caught Steve off guard.
After Bo touched Tripp and brought him back to life, Steve saw his buddy’s ghost fade away. It wasn’t long until Ava and Steve celebrated a reunion with their now living son. Tripp promised not to scare them like that again and told his parents he loved them.
Once Ciara found out Tripp returned from the dead, she knew her dad must’ve had a hand in it. Ben and Ciara shared some sweet family moments as they savored their baby bliss.
At the pub on Tuesday’s Days episode, Lucas arrived claiming that Sami had been injured in a skiing accident. Once Lucas explained how Sami broke her leg and was in traction, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) was skeptical of the story.
Allie got more possession details at home and felt guilty, but Johnny and Marlena worked to reassure her. Once Lucas heard the latest on Allie, he raced to comfort his daughter. Allie worried about Tripp’s fate, but John showed up to insist Tripp was going to be fine.
