Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 3, reveals that Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) stole the baby and kicked Evan Frears aka Christian Maddox (Brock Kelly) into the water. Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (Camila Banus) confession also shocked Li Shin (Remington Hoffman), so here’s how all the Days drama went down.
At the bistro on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, Evan told Orpheus (George DelHoyo) goodbye since he wanted to build a new life for himself with his son.
Orpheus learned Evan was renaming the baby Maddox Frears and moving to New Zealand to be near Zoey Burge (Alyshia Ochse) as well as David Ridgeway (Kyler Ends).
Evan revealed that he’d scored a job on a boat and that he’d hang out in Chicago for a while until he had enough money to move on. Although Evan suggested Orpheus could join the rest of the family in New Zealand, Orpheus suggested he had unfinished business to take care of in Salem.
At home, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) was upset over the paternity test results and wanted Belle Brady’s (Martha Madison) help to keep custody, but Belle admitted there was nothing she could do to stop this legally.
Evan eventually showed up for Maddox and bickered with Shawn, who was forced to say goodbye to the baby.
After Evan left, Shawn blew up at Belle and acted like she got exactly what she wanted.
Belle assured Shawn that she didn’t want him in pain, so he apologized for lashing out and fumed over Jan’s lies.
Down by the docks, Evan was all set to leave with the baby when Jan appeared.
Jan wanted to hold her son, so Evan reluctantly let her – giving Jan the opportunity to catch him off guard with a kick into the water nearby.
Jan told Shawn Christian that it was just the two of them now, but she made it clear that Salem hadn’t seen the last of her.
In Gabi’s office, she raged at someone over the phone about the marriage certificate just before Li walked in.
Gabi lied about a contract that Li had already taken care of, so Li called her out and ultimately realized she was caught up in a fake marriage scheme with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).
Li assumed this was Ava’s crazy idea, but Gabi insisted it was her own and explained why it was the best option she had.
In the end, Li basically praised Gabi for her manipulative brilliance and urged her to trust him with the truth next time.
Gabi and Li then shared some passionate moments with the promise of another round later.
At Ava’s apartment, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) got the clerk on the phone and confirmed that Ava’s marriage certificate to Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) was filed.
After apologizing for his earlier behavior, EJ offered to let Ava stay at the mansion since she was family now.
Ava eventually agreed to move in and hugged EJ in appreciation, but the looks on their faces said they were keeping an eye on each other.
EJ confirmed that when he went home and played chess in front of Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) portrait.
After EJ pointed out you should keep your family close, he said you should keep the pretenders closer.
Back with Ava on Wednesday’s Days episode, she got on the phone with Gabi and surprised her with updates on the mansion move.
In Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) lab, he explained how he told Gabi that Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) couldn’t be saved, but then he told himself nothing was impossible.
Dr. Rolf knew Stefano would want him to do everything he could to save his namesake.
Unfortunately, Gabi donated Stefan’s heart just when Dr. Rolf was on the verge of bringing him back.
Dr. Rolf still kept Stefan alive through his high-tech machines – even after he went to prison and his plan was derailed.
As long as the power didn’t go out, Stefan was fine without supervision.
Kristen marveled at all this as Dr. Rolf suggested they now had the perfect heart for Stefan.
Dr. Rolf was hopeful that Jake’s heart could be transplanted so that Stefan could rise again.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Dr. Rolf’s tricky medical magic will bring some great drama, so stay tuned.
