Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Wednesday, September 28 Recap – Shawn Saves Dying Clyde – Hospitalized Gwen Wakes Up to Xander

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, September 28, reveals that Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) saved dying Clyde Weston (James Read) while hospitalized Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) woke up to Xander Cook (Paul Telfer).

First on Wednesday’s Days episode, DOOL fans once again saw Jennifer speeding in her car.

Gwen was ultimately left unconscious on the ground following a hit-and-run outside the police station.

At the Horton house, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) told Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) about Jennifer being back on painkillers.

Just when Jack was about to go looking for Jennifer, she finally came home.

Jennifer explained how she imagined seeing Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) and then decided to drive to the police station for Clyde information.

However, Jennifer said she got dizzy and came back home.

Jack confronted Jennifer with the pills and pushed for a confession, but Jennifer felt sick and ran out of the room.

Outside the Salem PD, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) was stunned to find Gwen unconscious with a head wound.

Once Rafe called for paramedics, they wheeled Gwen in right as Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) was wrapping up her break at the hospital.

Xander was with Sarah as he realized Gwen had been brought to the emergency room. Rafe couldn’t offer much info to Xander, who wondered if Jack knew yet.

Moments later, Rafe called Jack to let him know Gwen was in the ER. By the time Jennifer returned to the living room, Jack had already rushed out.

That left Julie to offer updates on Gwen’s hospitalization and turn Jennifer’s attention back to her addiction.

Jennifer broke down in tears and admitted she’d been ashamed to come clean, but Julie insisted they all wanted to help her.

After they decided to get some rest, Julie acknowledged Jennifer’s earlier drive and felt it was lucky that she didn’t hurt herself or anyone else in that state.

Back at the hospital, Sarah gave Xander the latest news on Gwen, who was stable and had some broken bones along with a possible concussion.

Fortunately, there was no internal bleeding or damage to major organs, so Gwen didn’t need surgery for now.

Rafe hoped to question Gwen, but Sarah explained that she’d been sedated.

Xander wanted to sit with Gwen since Jack wasn’t there yet and wouldn’t want her to be alone.

In Gwen’s room, Xander sat by her beside and insisted that she was one of the toughest people he knew.

After Xander argued that Gwen would be back to her old self in no time, Gwen opened her eyes and was surprised to see him.

Gwen was groggy and confused, so Sarah informed her that she was at University Hospital. Once Gwen was a little more awake and alert, she was ready to answer Rafe’s questions.

In the cemetery, EJ DiMera (Dan Feurriegel) thought it was poetic justice now that Clyde was the one bleeding out on the ground.

Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) stooped down next to EJ as they both savored the experience of watching Clyde die in front of them.

However, Shawn found out there’d been a report of gunfire at the cemetery where Abigail was buried.

Belle Brady (Martha Madison) insisted on going with Shawn, who showed up in time to call paramedics for Clyde and rain on the DiMera brothers’ parade.

As EJ’s lawyer, Belle advised him not to say anything. EJ assumed Belle would represent Chad too, but Chad said he didn’t need a lawyer and had nothing to hide.

At the police station, Chad recapped the story of what happened and revealed to Shawn that Belle had been the original murder target.

Chad still had Clyde’s strangle marks on his neck as he explained how EJ saved him with that bullet.

Shawn ripped into EJ for putting Belle in danger, but she felt he couldn’t have known the house was bugged.

Besides, Belle practically forced the confession about Clyde’s hit out of EJ. After EJ apologized to Belle in private, she assured him there was no need for that.

EJ also apologized to Chad for not telling him about Clyde’s threat to the family, but Chad felt they’d both made mistakes and shouldn’t keep score.

Chad thanked EJ for saving him, but EJ admitted he mostly just wanted to shoot Clyde and grinned.

At the hospital again on Wednesday’s Days episode, Clyde’s doctors extracted the bullet and were confident he’d recover.

Jack found out Gwen was stable when he arrived, so he demanded to see Clyde.

Shawn led Jack into Clyde’s room for a confrontation, but Clyde denied killing Abigail and suggested Jack was better off without her.

After Clyde said “that little slut” cheated on Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson), Shawn held Jack back from attacking him.

Next, Jack visited Gwen’s bedside and was so glad she was all right. Rafe questioned Gwen about what she remembered, but she admitted it all happened so fast.

The car didn’t swerve, so Jack wondered if Gwen thought it could’ve been deliberate.

Gwen acknowledged it was possible and said she didn’t see the driver due to the blinding headlights.

Jack realized this went down outside the police station and had an alarmed look as he thought back to Jennifer’s confession about driving there.

In Clyde’s room on Wednesday’s Days episode, Shawn vowed not to rest until he was back at Statesville – and this time, Clyde was never getting out.

Although Chad was disappointed to learn Clyde would live, EJ pointed out that at least Clyde would go back to prison.

Belle also hoped Chad had peace of mind knowing the truth.

Chad felt some sense of satisfaction since Abigail would want justice, especially for the kids.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Chad will try to move on with his life soon, so stay tuned to see his next chapter.
