General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, May 12 Recap – Ryan Hints at Esme Mother Reveal – Franco Speaks to Liz Through Chelsea

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, May 12, reveals that Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) hinted as an Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) mother reveal while Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) spoke to Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) through Chelsea Lam (Jen Ray) the medium.

At the hospital, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) joked around with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) in her office before pulling out the pill and asking her to identify it.

Britt looked up the code and realized it was an opioid for severe pain, so she grew concerned about misuse.

Spencer admitted it was Esme’s and asked questions about what would happen if you mixed this medication with alcohol.

Although Spencer vowed to handle this, Britt couldn’t in good conscience stand by and do nothing.

Spencer snapped about it being a little late for Britt to grow a conscience and hurt her feelings by acting like she knew nothing about healthy relationships.

At Spring Ridge, Esme managed to score some alone time with Ryan and offered updates on her progress.

Ryan wondered how badly Esme had screwed things up, so she admitted Spencer didn’t want to be with her intimately yet and had been looking through her stuff.

After Ryan ranted about Spencer being onto Esme, he felt Esme was putting everything they’d built and worked for in jeopardy.

Esme acted like there was still time for her and suggested she’d sell Ryan out in a heartbeat if it meant saving herself.

Ryan admitted Esme reminded him of her mother, who had an instinct for self-preservation and was someone you couldn’t turn your back on.

Once Ryan reminded Esme that they were all each other had, she sat with him as he talked about the agony of people letting you down in relationships.

Ryan flashed back to a physical fight with Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) before the conversation shifted to Esme needing to seduce Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma).

Once Nikolas and Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) marriage was blown apart, Ryan felt they could focus on destroying the rest of their enemies.

At Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) apartment, Felicia spoke to Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) over the phone and suggested the time for a family addition was past.

Nina arrived and found out Felicia was on babysitting duty, but the kids were already asleep.

After Felicia invited Nina in for popcorn, Nina was grateful – though she wondered why Felicia didn’t slam the door in her face considering she was good friends with Bobbie.

Felicia felt that Nina was family due to her connection to James West (Curtis and Owen Rufca), so they talked about Nina owning her mistakes and explaining things to James as well as Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver) one day.

Speaking of explaining, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) did some of that by acting like Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was lurking outside the gatehouse when he let her in using his key.

Carly played it off like she wanted to make sure Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) were holding up OK and accepted Willow’s extra key for next time.

Michael then brought up the cemetery run-in with Nina and how it was a stretch to act like Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) could’ve been saved.

After Michael suggested Nelle’s crazy side came from Nina, Drew pointed out that Michael didn’t think Wiley inherited the crazy from Nelle.

Michael managed to have a civil conversation with Drew, who later faced backlash from Carly at GH.

However, Drew was just trying to pave the way in case the DNA test shows Willow was Nina’s daughter.

Carly told Drew she would do the right thing if the test results proved that, but she wasn’t very convincing!

When Carly cornered Britt to push for the DNA test, it caught the doc off guard.

Back with Willow, she pleasantly surprised that Michael and Drew had been able to calmly discuss Nina.

After Willow started hinting about compromising, Michael wondered if she meant with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Nina or both.

Willow certainly wasn’t willing to cut Nina any slack, but she gave Michael a nudge toward making amends with Sonny.

At Elizabeth’s place, she wanted a sign from Franco as someone seemingly peeked in through the window.

The door ultimately swung open and blew the candles out, but the real creepiness came when Chelsea appeared to be inhabited by Franco’s spirit.

“Franco” spoke about how beautiful Liz was and how he could never properly capture that beauty with his brush.

Liz talked about how much she’d missed Franco, who spoke through Chelsea about Liz not being able to move on until she found peace.

“Franco” warned that Liz couldn’t look away, which confused her until the connection was broken as Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) arrived.

Liz tried to explain what had gone down and assumed Finn thought she was losing it.

Finn clearly wasn’t buying any of this, but he pretended for Liz’s sake.

Laura convinced Liz to come stay with her and the boys tonight, but Liz wanted to try again with Chelsea soon.

In a moment alone, Finn acted like Chelsea was lying to vulnerable Liz and warned her to stay away.

Nevertheless, Chelsea insisted she’d save Finn a seat next time and hoped he’d come with a more open mind.

General Hospital spoilers say Liz’s mystery will continue to unravel in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
