The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) may give up his parental rights and allow Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) to become Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor’s (Rainn and River Ware) only father.
Y&R fans know Chance struggled to bond with Dominic after missing so much time with him.
Since Chance was in Spain when Dom was born, he wasn’t around for so many of those first special moments.
Of course, Devon helped deliver Dominic and felt a connection to him immediately.
It’s always been easy for Devon to click with Dom, but Chance never felt that same link despite his love for the boy.
When Chance got back home, he felt like an outsider – especially when he saw how good Devon was with Dominic.
Chance tried to play catchup and feel the fatherly vibe he was supposed to feel, but he’s just never quite achieved that.
During the week of November 14-18, Chance will encourage Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) to be a couple with Devon.
From where Chance is standing, he may think Abby, Devon and Dom make the picture-perfect family without him.
As a result, Chance could argue that he should sign away his legal rights and take a step back.
Although Chance might want to remain in Dom’s life in a smaller capacity, he may see no need to continue his role as a second father.
Abby will inevitably protest if that’s the stance Chance takes.
We may see Abby insist that Dominic loves his “papa” and that Chance’s relationship with him is special in its own way.
However, Chance may think he’s been in denial about a lot of things, including his ability to be a dad to Dominic.
Devon has it covered in the father department, so Chance may argue he should walk away and avoid confusing Dom now that their marriage is ending.
Perhaps Chance will declare this is for the best and refuse to let Abby change his mind.
Whatever the case, Chance is on the verge of a difficult choice, so Devon and Abby may be on their own when it comes to raising Dom.
Chance may choose to bow out and suggest Abby should give Dominic a two-parent home with Devon.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Abby will face some other devastating blows as Chance stands his ground, so stay tuned.
