Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, June 5, reveals that Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) came home to Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), who wanted to pop open the bubbly and celebrate her first day at The Spectator.
Chloe gave Xander updates on the fact that she’d already quit since Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) made her job so miserable.
Xander gave Chloe a pep talk and advised her not to let Gwen win, so she finally agreed to give the job another try.
After Xander made Chloe dinner and flirted with her, he planted a kiss that Chloe reciprocated.
At the Salem Inn on Monday’s Days episode, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) was frantic over his run-in with Colin Bedford (Jasper Newman) and needed Gwen’s help to hide.
Gwen argued that Colin had much bigger problems and turned Leo’s attention to Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte) since she thought all the drama surrounding the newest DiMera would make a great story for The Spectator.
Although Gwen wanted Leo to interview Dimitri and write the article, he ultimately refused since he got on Dimitri’s bad side during all the Alamainian Peacock chaos.
Gwen decided she’d have to write the story herself and took off.
At the DiMera mansion on Monday’s DOOL show, Dimitri and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) bickered over their own previous Beyond Salem encounter, but Megan DiMera (Miranda Wilson) felt they should let bygones be bygones.
After Megan mentioned the idea of Kristen and Dimitri getting married, they were both shocked.
Megan pointed out that Dimitri wasn’t Kristen’s blood relative and acted like arranged marriage power plays were typical for the DiMera clan.
It turns out Dimitri was set to inherit a large sum of Von Leuschner money if he married by his 40th birthday, but he was already 39 and three quarters.
Megan went on to explain that by marrying within the family, they could speed the process along and trust that Kristen wouldn’t be some outside gold digger.
Even so, Dimitri refused to marry Aunt Kristen, who wasn’t interested in the idea either. Megan decided that if Dimitri wanted to wed someone else, they’d have to find someone very special.
Suddenly, Gwen walked through the door looking for Dimitri, so it was almost like fate was lending a helping hand!
At the hospital on Monday’s Days episode, Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) gave Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) the DNA results and left since she was dealing with the Colin and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) emergencies.
Nicole read the results and informed Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) that he wasn’t a DNA match, so EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) was delighted and suggested this was the best outcome for everyone.
As Eric got on the elevator, he looked disappointed while EJ celebrated the news with Nicole nearby.
EJ asked Nicole if they should spread the word or wait, but she opted for the latter since she wasn’t sure she could carry this baby to term.
In Kayla’s office, EJ came with Nicole to see what they could do to ensure a safe and healthy delivery. Kayla vowed to refer Nicole to a specialist and seemed suspicious over Nicole acting happy about this outcome.
At Sloan Petersen’s (Jessica Serfaty) apartment, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) barged in with a search warrant and grilled Sloan about Colin.
Sloan insisted she didn’t know where Colin was and wouldn’t be dumb enough to hide him there or leave clues lying around.
Jada searched the place anyway before Sloan mentioned Eric potentially being the father of Nicole’s baby.
Sloan pointed out that Jada had her sister to thank for that since Talia Hunter (Aketra Sevillian) drugged the biscuits that led to Nicole and Eric’s passion.
After Sloan mentioned Leo’s encounter with Colin, Jada lashed out since she thought Sloan should’ve divulged that info right away.
Sloan offered up her wrists for handcuffs since she’d love to sue for false arrest, but Jada chose to head for Leo’s suite instead.
Once Leo opened the door, Jada warned that he’d better tell her everything about his run-in with Colin if he wanted to avoid landing in a jail cell.
Back with Eric on Monday’s Days episode, he met up with Sloan and let her know he wasn’t a DNA match for Nicole’s baby.
Sloan acknowledged this was the outcome she wanted, but she also hated to see Eric in pain since she knew how badly he wanted to be a father.
Eric acted like the timing was wrong and said he was looking forward to his future with Sloan, but he still looked distraught as they hugged.
Sloan also looked uneasy over Eric’s shoulder since a flashback revealed what really happened when she supposedly took his DNA sample.
Instead of swabbing Eric’s cheek, Sloan changed her mind and swabbed her own since she couldn’t take the chance of losing him.
