Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 3, reveals that Sarah Cook (Linsey Godfrey) gave Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans), Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) updates on Xander Cook’s (Paul Telfer) kidnapping plot. Despite Bonnie’s confusion, Sarah insisted she was right about Xander holding her hostage and working for Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun).
Although Sarah didn’t know if Xander was cheating with Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), she wouldn’t put anything past her.
There was also debate about Gwen’s involvement in the kidnapping fiasco and whether she might’ve put on a bodysuit to play the fake clown captor.
In Alex Kiriakis’ (Robert Scott Wilson) bedroom, he dreamed Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) came to collect her raincheck with a Christmas wreath of condoms.
Once Stephanie’s voice morphed into Leo Stark’s (Greg Rikaart), Alex woke up horrified to see Leo in bed with him – though the intruder was fully clothed!
Leo wanted to borrow toothpaste on Tuesday’s Days episode, but he complained about the wintergreen flavor.
Alex urged Leo to move out and buy some toothpaste of his own before they bickered over the issues Leo was causing in Sonny Kiriakis’ (Zach Tinker) marriage.
Leo picked up on the fact that Alex was having some relationship issues as well, but Alex ultimately kicked him out of his room.
At Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) and Chanel Dupree’s (Raven Bowen) apartment, Will Horton (Chandler Massey) slammed the door on Sonny since they had nothing to discuss.
As long as Sonny was standing his ground on Leo, Will didn’t see how they could get past this.
However, Sonny convinced Will to let him in and hear him out.
Although Will thought Sonny was being naïve, Sonny felt that Will was being too negative and refusing to accept that someone could change.
Will argued that some people could change, but he didn’t feel that way about Leo and wanted him gone from the Kiriakis mansion.
Sonny decided he was willing to find Leo somewhere else to live, but he wouldn’t stop being friends with him.
In the end, Sonny and Will agreed to disagree on the topic of Leo and shared some passionate moments.
Once Leo joined Sarah, Maggie, Bonnie and Justin, he realized they were talking about the fake clown kidnapper.
Leo swore that he knew nothing about Gwen dressing up like a clown, so he was obviously careful about his wording!
In Xander’s motel room, Gwen found the place looking like a disaster area.
Xander was drunk on the floor, so Gwen forced him to get up and gave him a lengthy pep talk.
Since Xander didn’t want Gwen to get in trouble with Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), he offered to repay the favor he owed her by protecting her.
Xander insisted he could claim he forced Gwen to help him.
Gwen thought it was a good sign that Sarah hadn’t gone to cops and assumed that meant she was keeping the news of Xander’s guilt to herself. Once Gwen convinced Xander not to give up on Sarah, he gave her a hug and made her squirm a bit with desire.
After Gwen headed back to the Horton house on Tuesday’s Days episode, Leo arrived out of breath and revealed that Sarah was spilling the beans about all Xander’s drama.
Back at Xander’s motel room, he left Sarah a hopeful voicemail assuring her that he did everything out of love.
Meanwhile, Sarah told Maggie that she was going to do the only thing she could do and divorce Xander.
As for Bonnie and Justin on Tuesday’s DOOL episode, they showed up to confront Xander over his horrible actions.
That led to Bonnie giving Xander a punch to the gut.
Next, Stephanie dropped off some gifts for Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) and Charlotte DiMera (Autumn Gendron) at the Horton house, so they begged her to come ice skating since Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) was taking a personal day.
Stephanie rescheduled a meeting, which led to her getting her wires crossed with Alex before he tracked her down at the ice skating rink.
Alex spoke to Chad alone and reminded him that he was with Stephanie romantically.
The fact that Chad and Stephanie were off having family time clearly bothered Alex, who was already upset over Chad being a third wheel at Christmas.
Chad assured Alex that he was merely friends with Stephanie before heading back out on the rink with the kids.
After Stephanie eavesdropped, she cornered Alex to grill him about his territorial behavior.
“Who the hell do you think you are?” Stephanie asked on Tuesday’s Days episode.
