General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that William Lipton recently spoke out about his status as Cameron Webber and offered some clarity on the situation. When viewers first heard Cameron scored a soccer scholarship to Stanford University, it immediately brought some fears about Lipton leaving the show.
Cameron has certainly become a fan favorite during his time on GH, so the idea of saying goodbye is heartbreaking.
We felt Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) pain as she threw Cameron a going-away party and struggled at the thought of watching him leave town.
Unfortunately, Lipton is indeed departing the show, which means Cameron’s exit is imminent.
However, there’s good news to report since that exit is only temporary!
In a new interview with SOD, William Lipton confirmed that his departure wouldn’t be a permanent one.
Lipton is a sophomore in college just like Cameron, but they’ll both be back once the school year is over.
General Hospital spoilers say Cameron will return this summer once Lipton rejoins the cast, so that’s exciting to hear.
Cam will have a chance to reunite with some familiar faces and get back in the action for some great storylines.
Lipton also wanted fans to know how much he appreciates all the support he’s been shown.
Plenty of viewers have reached out to Lipton on social media – just to let him know how much they love Cameron and are going to miss him.
Thankfully, none of us will have to miss Cameron for too long.
Again, Lipton’s exit is temporary, so look for him back on canvas by the time all the summer drama heats up.
Cameron will inevitably come home to chaos since there’s never a dull moment in Port Charles, especially with his particular group of friends.
You can bet Cam will once again have to serve as the voice of reason down the road.
