The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) may find himself at another low point. Y&R fans know that Daniel came back to Genoa City on a mission to rebuild his life, but Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) actions could jeopardize her son’s progress.
Daniel previously let his stalled art career and insecurities get in the way of his family.
Once Daniel developed anger issues and became emotionally distant, Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) and Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) had to create some physical distance, too.
Now Heather and Lucy are living in Portugal, where Heather has moved on with another man.
Even Lucy is just now starting to trust Daniel again and let him back in the picture.
Daniel put all his hopes and dreams into Omega Sphere, a gaming platform that could change the world as far as he’s concerned.
This was supposed to be Daniel’s path forward and a strategy to get his family back.
When Daniel realized winning Heather’s heart again wasn’t an option, he nearly walked away from the project.
It was hard for Daniel to make peace with the pain and regret he felt.
Won’t Daniel feel that pain and regret a thousand times worse once Phyllis is seemingly gone forever?
It’s easy to imagine Daniel battling depression and hitting rock bottom as he tries to cope with the news.
Daniel will inevitably feel bad for pushing Phyllis away and firing her from the gaming platform.
You can bet Daniel will blame himself for Phyllis’ “death” on some level, so the last thing he’ll be thinking about is developing games.
Daniel may want to wallow in misery instead and could potentially tell Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that he wants to quit his job.
Lily considered Daniel’s attempt to scrap the platform the last time he contemplated it and may consider it again.
Although Daniel has a contract, Lily will see how much he’s hurting after Phyllis’ “death” takes a toll.
It could lead to Lily allowing Daniel to take a step back, so he might put the project on hiatus and take an indefinite break.
Then again, the platform could crash and burn completely. The whole project may fall apart and get scrapped if Daniel loses interest due to his Phyllis grief.
Phyllis’ decision to work with Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) and fake her demise could have consequences that she didn’t anticipate.
If Phyllis ruins Daniel’s new career and causes him to revert to a bad place mentally, she may battle some guilt.
