The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers preview video for the week of March 27-31 teases that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will seemingly get caught in a tight spot. It’ll lead to some exciting drama, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
After Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) claims Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is sick in a suite upstairs, she’ll convince Diane to leave the gala and check on her son.
Of course, Diane will soon find out that Phyllis lied like she always does, so that’ll kick off a fierce confrontation.
Y&R’s weekly promo shows Phyllis insisting that Diane tried to take away everything that was hers.
Diane fires back that Phyllis herself is the reason her life is such a dismal failure.
“If you can’t get out of your own way, then just get the hell out of mine!” Diane shouts in the preview clip.
This will turn into quite a catfight after Phyllis grabs Diane’s arm and gets slapped in return. Phyllis will then shove Diane as the war between them erupts.
Once Diane is driven to her breaking point, she’ll wrap her hands around Phyllis’ neck and push her back on the desk.
“I should do the world a favor and strangle you to death!” Diane yells in the promo.
Kyle, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) all appear in the doorway moments later looking shocked over how far things have escalated.
However, we should point out that this could be a bit of a fake-out.
We know that Diane will have an explosive showdown with Phyllis and announce her engagement with Jack AFTER that fight plays out.
Phyllis will then saunter back to the party to cause a scene to ruin the lovebirds’ moment.
It would be kind of weird for Jack to just brush past Diane trying to strangle Phyllis and then happily announce their engagement.
That could mean this will simply be Phyllis’ fantasy of how she hopes the fight will go.
Phyllis may count on Diane nearly strangling her in front of Jack, Summer and Kyle to prove her point.
In reality, things may not quite reach that level of rage. Diane may resist the urge to take this brawl as far as she would actually like.
Then again, Jack does seem to give Diane a pass for just about everything, so it’s possible she could explain it away.
Perhaps Jack will be too in love to fault Diane for anything and blame Phyllis for provoking her.
There’s no denying that it’d work well for the story if Diane essentially threatens to kill her since Phyllis seems to be on the verge of faking her demise.
Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) wants to frame Diane and put her away for life, but this plan is bound to go off the rails!
