Detective Joe Hill’s criminal informant was shot. Her name is Maria. She survived the assassination attempt, but her life was in danger. She was fighting for her life in a hospital and her potential killer could try again. Joe shouldn’t even try to visit her in the hospital. There was hit out on him as well. He still visited her because he made a promise to her. He promised he would find her sister. Her sister Carla has been missing for months. The name sounded familiar to Jamie when he visited the hospital and it might be involve with the case he’s working. He thinks that Carla might have been human trafficked. And if so, she might have been moved to New York with a new shipment of victims he intends on rescuing.

Joe told Jamie how to identify her. She looks exactly like Maria. They have matching tattoos dedicated to their mother on their right forearms. Joe showed Jamie the tattoo. He also asked Jamie to keep him informed. They were going to combine their cases. Jamie was working on human trafficking. Joe was working on a drug dealer selling women into human trafficking. The drug dealer went by the name Ruiz. He was actually dating Carla when she suddenly disappeared one day. And Joe felt Ruiz was involved.

Maria thought the same and that could be why Ruiz tried to kill her.

Across town, Frank found out sad some news in the worst possible way. He found out his best friend died. Lenny has been suffering from cancer and he didn’t want to tell anyone about it. He just told his daughter. She was with him in the end. She also didn’t take it well herself. She went out drinking. She got into a fight. She was charged with assault when she played the Commissioner’s courtesy card. Frank went down to the station. He asked Tess how she got his card and she said her father gave it to her. She also said she couldn’t contact her father because he died and that’s how Frank learned his best friend was dead.

Frank was so upset with Tess that he left her in the cell overnight. He wanted to teach her tough love. His team later told him that was a little harsh. Tess wasn’t a Reagan. She just lost her father and she had needed a friend. Someone who’s known her since she was a kid. Frank could have stepped up to be the father figure she needed right then and he fell down on the job. His whole team was saying as much. They said there was a grieving kid that needs help. He could be that help or he could be another person that abandons her.

Joe and Jamie meanwhile weren’t the only Reagans teaming up. Erin was teaming up with Danny. She used his criminal informant to get close to the Ace Double Treys. The CI she used was Bugs. The same Bugs that was mad at Danny for getting his brother killed. Bug swore that he would never work with Danny again. He’s done snitching, but that was a lie. He was questioned by Erin and Anthony. They purposely put him in a cell with someone from Ace Double Treys because they wanted Bugs to join the gang.

Bugs did it. He got the tattoo to prove it. He just didn’t want to work with Danny anymore. Danny refused to take that and he strong arm his way into the investigation. Danny forced Bugs to work with him again. He knows that Bugs was going to get revenge some way for his brother. Yet, he refused to let the case go. Or let Bugs become Erin’s criminal informant. Danny stayed involved in the case and he secretly warned Erin that Bugs could be playing them. There’s just no way to know until Bugs either makes the case or gets Danny shot.

Bugs later called the cops to the scene of a large gun bust. There were more members from the gang that Bugs never mentioned and so Bugs created a diversion. He had all eyes on him when Danny moved in with Anthony. They quickly arrested everyone. Bugs also saved Danny’s life. They had talked right before everything went down. Danny said he felt free after his brother died. He realized that all the stupid stuff he thought was holding him back wasn’t worth it and that allowed him to be happy. And maybe Bugs realizes he feels free too.

He must feel free after he stole money from the gang. Danny knew about it. He just wasn’t going to tell anyone else about it. Jamie and Joe both close their cases as well. Maria woke up at the hospital. She identified Ruiz as her shooter. Joe went after him and he was forced to kill him to protect himself. Ruiz is dead. They just needed to reunite the sisters and Jamie helped them to do that. Jamie told the cops where the safehouse was. They came in guns blazing and they were able to arrest everyone without serious injury.

Maria was reunited with Carla and Jamie correctly guessed that Joe has feelings for Maria.

And Frank reached out to Tess. He finally agreed to support her through her loss. He even invited her to Sunday dinner and she didn’t show.

THE END
