In tonight’s Blue Bloods episode, Edie has noticed a worrying pattern with her Desk Sergeant. He would often force her to undercharge her perps. He tells her this as a suggestion that they both know she can’t say no to. She brought in a young man who punched a stranger down in the subway.

Edie wanted to charge him felony assault. This desk sergeant said he looked like a kid and that he should be charged with a misdemeanor. It’s funny how when it was a white guy in his twenties that does something wrong, he gets called a kid. He was a dangerous kid at that because he punched people. He’s not going to stop when he gets released like it’s nothing.

Edie was considering going to her CO about this. She has three perps now undercharged. She thinks it’s a personal thing with the Desk Sergeant. Like maybe he doesn’t like her as a person.

He wants to make her job more difficult. Edie doesn’t know what the issue was and so she went to a captain. She reported what happened. Her captain chose to ignore the problem. She said that Sergeant Stone was one of their best. He knew what he was doing. Edie was walking away disappointed when Danny got some bad news.

Danny learned that a serial killer was released early. His own sister signed off on it. Erin made a deal with Sam Evans to close a homicide case and Sam Evans got released a few months early. He frankly shouldn’t have gotten released at all. He was a serial killer.

They couldn’t catch him on that, but they did get him for witness tampering. He’s out now. Danny went to go warn his partner. Evans had once threatened to kill Baez and her daughter. Erin should have at least called Baez herself to say he was coming out of prison and not leave it for her brother to handle.

Danny couldn’t tell Baez at first. He sat in front of her house all night. He kept watch and she found him still there the next morning. She asked him what was going on.

He told her about Evans. How he’s out now. They both became concerned for her daughter. Baez needed a few moments to send her daughter to a safe place. She then wanted to know where Evans was. She stopped by the man’s house with Danny. They basically threatened him to stay away from her daughter. They also warned they were going to keep a close eye on him.

Whenever he gets the itch to hurt people again, they were going to be there. They were going to stop him. He made it their life purpose when he threatened to kill a kid. Their investigation into Evans was off the books. Much like Jamie’s investigation into the Scalino family was going off book.

He ran into a criminal informant. The CI’s name was Billy Berlinger. He was once brothers-in-law with Anthony. Anthony now uses him as a snitch. Anthony was helping Billy get away from the Scalinos and he hadn’t told Erin about it.

Anthony thought he was helping Billy. They were once family. Billy getting in debt to a mob family wasn’t going to end well if Anthony didn’t put a stop to it. Anthony had Billy spying on the Scalinos.

Only he wasn’t really doing that. Billy passed information to Anthony to help get a rival of the Scalinos arrested. The rival later claimed that Scalinos have been bragging about having a cop on their payroll. Anthony came to believe that Billy was playing. He thought he’s been using him to warm his way up to the Scalinos.

It all came out when Jamie offered to help Anthony. They were figuring out their next moves when Eddie learned that her captain was being especially flirty with Sergeant Stone.

This could be why the captain wasn’t taking the complaints seriously. Eddie wasn’t the only noticing her perps were being undercharged. Several other people have complained as well. The captain ignores all of them. Eddie felt like there had to be another reason for why the captain was acting this way. She thought maybe they were cooking the books.

They weren’t and the captain finally looked into the sergeant.

He was going to get transferred elsewhere because the captain learned he was cooking the books. Danny’s case also took a turn. He and Baez received a phone call from Evan’s mother.

His mother said he bought the white flowers again. Its his calling card as a serial killer. They went to his house to get more answers out of the mom and sadly they found her dead. Evans killed his own mother. He also waited for Danny at Danny’s apartment. Danny knew he was coming. He set a trap. Both he and Baez shot and killed Evans. He was no longer a danger to the world.

Frank meanwhile found out that Abigail went around to put her husband on the mayor’s detail. Abigail’s marriage was falling apart. Her husband has been staying with his brother. He was on patrol. His anger issues interfered with work and he was never going to be promoted there.

So, Abigail went to the rest of the team. They got her husband a cushy job. It also opens the door for further promotion. Frank didn’t find out about it until it was a done deal. He was upset at first, but he wanted Abigail to be happy.

She was saving her marriage. Frank has to support her as a friend even if he couldn’t do it as the Police Commissioner. Frank later got Abigail’s husband a job with the Chief of Deans.

They were going to put his frequent patrolling to good use. He could also earn promotion through the job. It was a desk job as well. Meaning her husband gets to return home at a reasonable time.

Jamie and Anthony also caught up with Billy. Billy’s sister had been threatened. The Scalinos forced him into helping them and they were going to kill him to cover it up. Jamie and Anthony stopped the assassination. They made several arrests. They had to take Billy to the hospital because he got shot only he’ll survive. And Anthony made sure he was gone by time Billy’s sister stopped by to check on him.

THE END!
