The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Thursday, May 23, reveals that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) noticed John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) was distracted, but she insisted they needed to focus on them – not on Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) tying the knot today.
Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) brought Kelly Spencer (Sophia Paras McKinlay) over so she could play with Beth Spencer (Jordyn Lynn Ariza), which gave him a chance to quiz Finn about his feelings regarding Deacon and Sheila’s marriage.
Once Finn made it clear that his commitment was to Steffy and the kids, he left to grab the pizzas they ordered from Il Giardino.
Steffy was glad Finn wouldn’t run into Sheila there since she assumed the nuptials were happening on the beach.
Liam knew Steffy was worried about Finn, who probably wanted to be at the wedding deep down.
Even so, Steffy said that Finn’s family was his priority and that he understood he could have nothing to do with Sheila.
At Forrester Creations, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) lectured Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) about enabling Deacon by going to the ceremony and standing up for that monster.
However, Hope insisted on supporting Deacon and felt it was unfair that Finn had to shut off his feelings for Sheila or risk losing Steffy.
Brooke took Steffy’s side since she had a family to protect and pushed Hope to be careful as she left for the wedding.
At home on Thursday’s B&B episode, Sheila looked at herself in the mirror and then gazed at Finn’s picture as she wished he could be at the wedding.
Deacon appeared with his eyes covered, but Sheila assured him that she didn’t believe in bad luck and convinced him it was OK to look.
There was some talk about Finn, but Sheila had accepted that he wouldn’t be at the ceremony.
Once Sheila and Deacon complimented each other’s wedding looks, they also discussed about how they changed the venue to Il Giardino since that’s where they first fell in love.
Sheila wondered who was marrying them, but Deacon said that news was a surprise and took off.
After Sheila was alone, she once again looked at Finn’s pic and wished he could be there to share her joy on her big day.
Next, Deacon expressed his gratitude to Tom (Clint Howard), the homeless guy who helped point out where Sheila was trapped.
Tom was dressed in a suit and ready to serve as the officiant, so Deacon invited him to enjoy the food and try the toe-themed treats on the table.
Once Hope arrived, Deacon gushed over her beauty and couldn’t thank her enough for being there.
Hope acknowledged that Brooke didn’t understand, but she could personally see how happy Sheila made Deacon – and that was all that mattered to her.
After Hope headed to the apartment and let Sheila know they were ready for her, Sheila thanked her for coming.
Hope warned Sheila not to break Deacon’s heart, so Sheila promised to do everything she could to make sure he was happy for the rest of their lives.
Once the wedding march began to play, Sheila walked down the aisle and met Tom.
Deacon explained how Tom helped with Sheila’s rescue, so she gave him a hug and thanked him before he kicked off the next part of the ceremony.
When Finn showed up, a staff member informed him that the dining area was closed.
Finn said he just ordered a couple pizzas and looked over to find that the wedding was in progress.
Once Sheila caught a glimpse of Finn, she dumped her bouquet in Hope’s arms and ran right over to him.
Sheila admitted she was hoping Finn would have a change of heart and was so happy that he came.
Deacon smiled at Finn as Hope stood there looking taken aback. Finn was uncomfortable once he realized he’d created a major misunderstanding with his arrival!
