As everyone tries to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives, they’ll also attempt to adjust to their new reality.
Nicole’s world was flipped upside down when she learned that her perfect marriage wasn’t so perfect, after all.
Her husband, Ted, had an affair with Leslie decades ago that he hid all these years, and this relationship resulted in him having an illegitimate child, Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle).
Katherine “Kat” Richardson (Colby Muhammad) and Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) have a sister they knew nothing about, and the girls are mere days apart!
In addition, Martin’s memory has been triggered with some childhood trauma; learning that Ted often took him to the café Leslie was working at so he could hang out with his lover behind Nicole’s back.
But let’s rewind to Leslie’s claims that Eva is Ted’s daughter, and the fact that she has DNA documentation to prove it.
Leslie was quick to rub this piece of paper in the Dupree family’s face when she dropped by for a visit the evening of the big reveal during the Monday, May 5 episode. Talk about misreading the room!
Leslie gloated as she waved the DNA document while Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis), Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie), Chelsea Dupree (RhonniRose Mantilla), Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit), Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley), and Martin watched on in disgust.
Even Kat was taken aback when Eva brought out the DNA “proof” at the country club during the May 5 episode.
Still, considering Leslie’s lies, how can anyone take this at face value?
While yes, Eva was the one who organized the DNA test by grabbing a sample from Ted during her stint as the Richardson family’s temporary assistant, considering Leslie’s track record, how can anyone not think she tampered with the results?
She may have tampered with them before Eva dropped them off at the lab; however, she could’ve also tampered with at the lab.
After all, the woman has an array of wigs that she pulls out for any given event.
Mix that in with her manipulative nature, and this is the perfect recipe for a DNA test tampering storyline!
Both Ted and Eva have seen her manipulate her way into having people believe she’s someone else, so maybe that was the case at the lab, too!
Leslie recently donned a wig and pretended to be a nurse at the hospital to inject poor Laura Peterson (Destiny Love) with potassium, to cause regression in her recovery.
Who’s to say that Leslie didn’t pull a similar move to tamper with Eva and Ted’s DNA test?
Beyond the Gates spoilers promise more over-the-top twists and turns on the new CBS soap, so if Leslie did “fix” the DNA document, it’ll likely come out at some point, right?
