General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 16, reveals that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was distracted over her concerns about Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup), so Ava Jerome (Maura West) pushed her to bail on work and go visit Kai instead.
At GH, Kai had a dislocated shoulder, but he was confident about his recovery – though it meant the NFL would have to wait and that he’d be spending another year at PCU.
Trina was impressed over Kai’s positivity and enjoyed a flirty conversation with him.
Although Kai ultimately had to head off for his MRI, he thanked Trina for visiting him since he found it sweet.
Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) took note of the cute interaction and seemed like she could tell love was starting to bloom.
Meanwhile, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) wrapped up a medical exam and told Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) that it felt good to be doing something proactive when it came to their baby-making delay.
Brook Lynn was nervous about her own examination, but Chase gave her some reassurance before heading off to see Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) in the ICU.
Outside Michael’s room, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) urged Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) to see that using Michael’s medical proxy as leverage was cruel – and that wasn’t the person Nina knew Willow to be.
Willow kept acting like Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) was right and planned to do whatever it took to get her kids back, but Nina didn’t think she should be letting Drew make decisions for her.
Willow was appalled over Nina suggesting she should bow down to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), but Nina thought they might lay their weapon down if Willow did it first.
The tension lifted a bit as Chase showed up, so Nina hugged Willow and told her to think about what she said.
Willow wound up having a deep conversation with Chase next since she valued his opinion and needed a friend.
Although Willow thought back on her romantic history and worried she’d just jumped from savior to savior, Chase didn’t see it that way.
Chase thought Willow was looking for the family she never had and gave her a nudge to do what was right, so Willow seemed to have a breakthrough.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Carly showed up and had a fierce faceoff with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), who refused to let the kids leave and played up all the pain Carly had caused Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) since she came to town.
Later, Chase cornered Tracy with concerns about Willow being kept from the children and insisted this had to stop.
As for Willow, she summoned Carly to GH and looked ready to find some common ground.
Willow told Carly that she asked her there to talk about Michael.
Once Nina met up with Ava, she complained about Drew being an obstacle in her relationship with Willow.
Ava pushed Nina to open her daughter’s eyes by revealing that while Willow was falling for Drew, he’d been hooking up with Nina.
At the Quartermaine stables, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) paid Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) to handle some of his duties since he was hung over after losing a boatload of money on his PCU bet.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamproga) eventually arrived and spoke to Cody privately about Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) latest issues with him.
Cody felt like Lulu would come around and pointed out that Dante had always liked headstrong women.
There was some talk about Dante’s camp fling with Brook Lynn before Gio interrupted to say a woman was there for Cody.
It turned out to be Selina Wu (Lydia Look), but Cody got rid of her for now by acting like he was done with gambling and wouldn’t work for her again.
Once Selina was gone, Dante questioned Cody about the real reason for her visit and worried he might’ve gotten himself in some trouble.
Cody denied it, but Dante was willing to help if his buddy needed him.
Over with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), they talked about Drew and the possibility of him taking Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) to live in Washington full-time.
If that happened, Alexis made it clear that she’d fight Drew on it.
Back with Brook Lynn, she had an appointment with Dr. Frida Navarro (Christina Ferraro).
Brook Lynn admitted her struggle to get pregnant and confirmed she’d given birth to a baby when she was a teenager.
Dr. Navarro saw no reason for concern when it came to the physical exam, but she suggested they’d have more news once the other test results came back in a few days.
