In tonight’s 9-1-1 Nashville episode, the city experienced a pollen bomb. It was the worst ever record season for allergies. It affected Blue and even his sister-in-law, Sam. Sam was pregnant as it is. She couldn’t deal with severe allergies too. Then there was this serial killer. He calls him the Pharoah. He got upset when a first responder stopped him from killing more people.
He threatened her. He threatened everyone he felt was stopping him. He also said the next would be a “Plague of Darkness”. Now the cops thought he’d target a power plant or something else connected to electricity. And he instead was dangerously more creative than they thought.
Pharoah used the pollen bomb that’s been the worst in Nashville’s history to his advantage. He used the pollen bomb. He poisoned a big batch of whatever meds the allergic were all using. Possibly at the pharmacy before they were ever sold. He knew a bunch of people would use it so he blinded them. His plan was never to target the actual lights.
It was always about stopping people from seeing them. The poisoning didn’t just blind them, sadly. It was targeting the rest of their organs. It started with the eyes and it spread.
Blythe had been one of the victims. She was at the shooting range with Cammy. Cammy was the dispatcher was threatened by the serial killer and Blythe wanted her to feel safe in her own home. Just in case this sicko was watching her. He somehow got her personal cell phone. Blythe wanted to risk Cammy too. She took her to the shooting range.
They ran into Rogue. He was shooting at that range for free because that’s the special deal with Metro police there. Rogue was competitive. He got into a contest with Blythe that ended with her passing out.
He caught Blythe when she fell. She didn’t injure her head that way. Which couldn’t be said of the others that were affected. They started pouring in and that’s when Rogue who was still at the hospital put it all together. This was their Plague of Darkness. It was killing the first guy. He asked for his father. This condition took down the surgeons too.
There were two transplant surgeons who went blind right as they were performing an open-heart surgery on a patient. Sam had to step in to finish the surgery. She had Rox there for help.
They nearly lost a guy. It was thankfully Roxie who knew heart massage. They got back the patient and saved the heart transplant. They first feared that whatever was making people blind was airborne. It hadn’t been. It wasn’t everyone who came into contact with the first patient. Rogue figured out it was eye drops.
He kinda unlawfully searched the bag of a patient. Sam tried to stop him. He pushed on ahead and he found the eye drops. The same ones that Don said Blythe uses. Don had borrowed her eye drops. So, Blythe began buying her own from the pharmacy.
The same pharmacy and even brand as every one of the victims. The brand’s name was OccularDew. The pharmacy where they got it was having a sale. It was fifty percent off. Rogue soon found the Pharoah’s biblical message in the eye drop display. The same one to make that brand looked prominent. Rogue connected the Pharoah to the scene.
He asked for security footage from the store. He tried to find out who this person was and more people went blind in the meantime. This included a young mother who was driving her son to the hospital.
The woman went blind on the drive. She refused to pull over or to stop. She said her son was suffering an asthma attack. His inhaler wasn’t working. She’d rather risk both of their lives than wait for help.
Cammy talked her to the nearest firefighters. They got there safely. The 113 saved her son’s life then they did their best to save her own. There were several stages to this Plague of Darkness. First was blindness. It was followed by the flu, sepsis, and then organ failure. The son that the firefighters saved was Lucas.
Lucas had used the same eye drops as his mom. The difference was that he’d been taken medication for pneumonia. It was a rare medication that was at least four hours away and so Don called in a favor.
He got Dr. Russ to fly his helicopter to Chattanooga and back. The meds treated the victims. It saved lives. It saved Blythe’s life. Blythe had asked Don why he didn’t show up for Dixie. He said he saw a young couple on horseback. It took him back to their beginning and he realized his home was wherever she was.
Their marriage was suddenly healed, but Don has always showed up when she needed him. It counted. Blythe may have been sick. It didn’t mean she missed anything. She found out that Sam was pregnant.
She and Don were so happy. Until they learned Sam has ovarian cancer. She didn’t want to terminate her pregnancy to get treatment and so she was going to need a miracle. They had to hope for one. Pharoah left behind a clue of “7-2-9”. Rogue didn’t know what it meant. Dixie was about to when she got on Flight 729.
THE END!
