On tonight’s 9-1-1 episode, Eddie and Buck ran into some trouble. Their flight to LA was cancelled. Most flights out of Nashville were cancelled because of a technical glitch. The guys couldn’t afford to wait around. Hen’s surprise birthday was coming up and everyone had forgotten about it last year.
This year had to be different. They had to make it to that party. Buck came up with the idea of renting a car. Eddie agreed. They ended up getting stuck in Oklahoma. They then came up with the idea of driving south to get away from a storm system coming down from the rocky mountains. Buck was in charge of navigation and they got lost.
They stopped at a diner. They ate. They realized they weren’t going to make it back in time for the party. They were arguing about getting lost when someone made a smart remark at the diner. They said they don’t get much of their “kind” there. Eddie was Latino. He wanted to know what kind the guy meant
They got in each other’s faces. The man that owns the diner broke it up with his shotgun. Eddie and Buck apologized to each other. They were back on the road when someone in a truck with lights ran them off it.
Eddie woke up in the hospital. He asked about Buck. The doctor said he was the only one found in the car. They thought Eddie was concussed and feared he had made up Buck. Only he hadn’t. Buck was there until he wasn’t.
He wasn’t found in the car wreck. Eddie reported what happened to the authorities and they seemed to think he did something Eddie. They thought he was gay. They thought he gotten into a lover’s tiff with Buck. The witnesses at the diner remembered their fight and not the fight with the locals.
Eddie was stuck in a hospital with a sheriff’s deputy “guarding” him. The authorities thought Buck was already dead when he wasn’t. He didn’t die or wander off. He was grabbed by the woman from the diner.
She’s a waitress there. Her name is Bonnie. Bonnie seemed to think Buck was her dead son, Derek. She has him locked in a room. He couldn’t escape. He couldn’t call for help. He was kidnapped and so it’s a good thing Eddie called Chimney. He needed someone to inform Maddie what’s going on.
Maddie was worried from the start. She knew that Eddie played no part in what happened to her brother. She tried to get Athena to talk some sense into the Sheriff of Los Nietos and there was no point.
The Sheriff refused to believe Eddie’s story. He still thought this was a lovers’ tiff. Athena was forced to call back Eddie to give him some much needed advice.
She told him to break away from the deputy. He was the only man on the ground that could look for Buck and that’s exactly what they needed him to do.
Eddie stole the other patient in the room’s pants. He escaped through a window. He went looking for Buck. Buck in the meantime was being tortured by Bonnie. He tried to escape. She responded by using a stung weapon on him. She tortured him until he said he was Derek. Buck would later come up with a plan.
He asked for food. She came in with balancing a few dishes and so Buck used that to get the drop on her. He trapped her inside of the locked room. He escaped and was about to get out of the house when he found the real Derek.
Derek was in a coma. He’s been in it since his motorcycle accident. The one Bonnie was talking about earlier. Buck thought her son had died and it turns out she was forcing him to live because she couldn’t let go. Buck looks a lot alike her son. Her ex-husband helped her kidnapped Buck. He was Derek’s father.
He was willing to let go, but not Bonnie. It was Bonnie’s idea to run them off the road. Its why she gave them fake directions to begin with. Its also why she lied about what she saw that night to the sheriff.
It Earl the ex-husband that knocked out Buck. They planned on killing him now that ruined the fantasy. Then Eddie came to the house. Eddie had Maddie look up the waitress’s address. He went there and he spotted the truck that ran them off the road. Bonnie pulled a gun on him so Eddie got the drop on her.
He was a trained vet after all. Earl came out with his gun. Buck snuck behind him and used the stungun. By time the sheriff’s office showed up, Buck was in need of medical attention. He had been through a lot.
They got checked out. The Sheriff arrested the couple. Eddie and Buck didn’t stick around to hear what happens next. They got back on the road to LA.
However, Hen never showed up for her surprise party because Karen planned a surprise getaway to Napa. Chimney didn’t tell Karen about the party because he was afraid she’d ruin the surprise. Karen didn’t tell him about Napa for that same reason. It was pretty laughable.
THE END!
