In tonight’s America’s Got Talent episode, It was part two of the Judges’ Callback. The judges put together a special treat with one of their alumni. They got to tour Hollywood and more importantly they got to meet even more celebrities. Everyone had a piece of advice for them. It was good things like always putting your best foot forward. Those same people all stuck around for the contestants as they put together their acts on the toughest stage in the US. They had to perform at Laugh Factory. It was a big stage for comedians. And so naturally this was all Howie’s idea.

Up first was Nene Royal. She came on the stage as a really shy girl. It created this persona that they didn’t know was secretly hiding a rocker underneath. It wasn’t until she started to play that they saw the true her. She turned a guitar into a magical being. She performed “Hysteria” by Muse. She has a great voice and her guitar skills could not be matched. She impressed Howie. Nene was followed by Cris Sosa. He was a comedian so being on that stage meant a little more to him than it did with other acts.

Cris had people laughing right out of the gate. He also received additional help from the audience. It was the Laugh Factory after all. Everyone there was a comedian. Its just that Howie didn’t think he should’ve needed help from anyone much less the audience. It took Cris too long to get around to the joke. Nikki Glasser was right there and Cris didn’t impress her. Howie said that it took him a while to get into his groove. Once he was there, he was great. It wasn’t something they could say about the next act.

Naimana and Daniela did that puppet/musical act for their Auditions. They then followed it up with a ventriloquist act tonight. They just wanted to be silly and sing opera. Howie tried to steer them into a direction to receive votes. He told them maybe they should switch to Pop because young kids watching at home wouldn’t know Opera or at least the translation of it. They took that advice in that they sang in English and that put an Opera spin on it. It was a complete waste of time. Howie couldn’t recall why he gave them a yes before.

Daniel Alvarez was next. He was a comic. He loved being on that stage and he took pointers from where others went wrong. The man was never afraid to make a jokes of his wheelchair. The audience could tell he was nervous at first and he eventually gained confidence, but there were certain jokes that he left hanging. Howie wasn’t sure what it was that caused that because Daniel usually had people in stitches. Rynia Kando went on after him. The comic/singer had spoken to Howie before her performance.

Rynia wanted to know what she needed to work on. She never expected that Howie would lead her down the wrong path. He loved her repetitiveness. He asked her to continue to do it and it sounded more of the same as her audition. Rynia still had people laughing. Some of that laughter however was a little forced. It was clear by the look on the audience faces that not everyone got her act and so she still needed to work out the kinks. She was soon followed by Byron and Byrd. They were a musical act.

The guys received great feedback at their audition. If there was one thing to critique, it was the fact that the frontman kept closing his eyes. He was so nervous that not seeing the audience helped hi,m get into his groove and keep it. His voice was beautiful. His friends’s guitar skills was right up there with Nene. They were perfect together. Their original song was a bit hit too. It was just the closing eyes thing. He did it again after noticing he did it the last time and after he already tried to keep his eyes open. Everything else was perfect. And nearly perfect doesn’t win a competition.

Howie had a lot of decisions to make. He had to decide who’d go to the Live shows. The first one was an easy decision. Nene was going through to the Live shows! Howie announced it to her tonight. The same goes for Cris. Cris was also moving forward along with Byron and Byrd. The singer in that duo just had to keep his eyes actually open. Daniel and Rynia on the other hand weren’t moving forward. Howie didn’t give Rynia the advice she needed to advance. He also noticed that two of the voices were similar. Before finally suggesting she should’ve done voices.

What good was your advice now, sir?!

The second hour had a thankfully different judge giving advice. Sofia stepped in for her Callbacks. She spoke to everyone one on one. She told them to be on their best and hoped no one’s nerves got the best of them. Unfortunately, some were experiencing voice cracking in the middle of practice. There was a magician who was struggling with putting together a new as well better act. It was that same magician who straight up disappeared. Darrell disappeared. They knocked on his hotel door. They tried calling him. He didn’t show up in time for the bus so they left without him.

Up first with Sofia was Vahtang. The beatboxer had given it up for a while when he was young. He went back to it to finally pursue it. The results were mixed. The celebrities that Sofia brought in were curious at first and they came to love his talent. They just weren’t sure if it was suitable for the big stage. Sofia tried to explain that Vahtang held his own during his audition. Its just hard to imagine that as a headliner from Sofia’s backyard. The same goes for Kameron. Kameron was a close up magician which worked out better for him in that backyard.

Close up magic was difficult. The magician has to maintain everyone’s attention and so its great that he was given a chance to perform with an intimate gathering rather than a giant audience. Only it didn’t reassure anyone that he could a larger audience’s attention. It was a downside to Sofia’s callbacks. Next up was Olivia and her dogs. She brought out two last time. She brought out three tonight. Her dog cute as well as fun. It was something light that no one could take offence with. Sofia simply wasn’t sure if there was much hope for it with the competition.

Brook Lynn went next. She performed “Bring Me to Life”. She has such a beautiful voice and was an amazing singer. She just experienced a slight setback. Her voice kept breaking. She might’ve pushed it a little too hard during rehearsals. Or develop a cold. Or even let nerves get the best of her. She doesn’t know and so she did her best to give her voice a rest. It helped out for the major parts. She still showed off her incredible voice. It wasn’t big blowout like she could’ve gone and that might count against her.

Darrell also made an appearance. He claimed that he got a great opportunity he had to pursue. He asked to do his act over Zoom and then he suddenly surprised her at the house. Him missing the bus had all been an act. It just showed Sofia that he put too much into the showmanship rather than the magic. Darrell didn’t make it through to the next round. Kameron did. Kameron just had to work on his somewhat confusing act in the meantime. Olivia was advancing as well. The same goes for Brook Lynn.

They put in the work. It was now paying off in a big way. Sadly, Vahtang didn’t seem to be going through. It’s a shame. There’s still hope for him though because that’s him after returning to beatboxing. Him actually working on it for a year or whenever he decides to come back will give him better results.

THE END!
