In tonight’s Chicago Med episode, there was a fight between at the prison. The inmate began freaking out on the lunch line and the guard was sent to subdue him.

It became bigger than what anyone initially thought. It sparked a riot. Which in turn created chaos at Gaffney because they were getting all of those patients.

Dr. Lenox was in charge of the ED. She asked that everyone above a level three be admitted and everyone below will get stuck in the waiting room. She also asked for every security guard to be placed down in the ED.

Lenox knew it might get ugly. Especially with the guards and the inmates all going to the same place. She still tried to handle it as best as she could. She called in everyone.

She even called in Archer who was supposed to be on a babymoon with his son, Sean. Sean could see just like everyone else that his dad was in love with Dr. Asher. They were about to have a baby together. He also might have had feelings before making his big move that resulted in said child. He tried to deny it and now look where he is.

Asher was also working that day. It’s one of the reasons Archer rushed back to the hospital. He didn’t care about those prisoners. He fixed them then moved them on. He was more worried about Asher.

She was due in two weeks and still working. Archer was right to be worried. Asher wasn’t in the ED for long. Her old patient Olivia came in. Olivia was a surrogate mother. She was carrying a baby for her best friend and his husband. She had earlier issues and she was worried that might’ve affected the baby because she didn’t feel him moving him anymore.

It turns out she was showing the early signs of labor. She didn’t even realize it. She didn’t have her go bag nor did she tell the fathers. She also had to reveal the baby was breach.

It was early enough to try turning the baby. If that doesn’t work, it will be a guaranteed c-section. She didn’t want surgery. C-sections are no joke and one way or another a woman was going to feel that pain while she tries to recuperate.

Luckily the c-section was ruled out. Asher deployed a trick that Maggie taught her. It helped turn the baby. It even taught something new to Asher’s replacement during her maternity leave.

It worked so well that Asher’s own baby became inspired. She went into labor tonight. She felt the first twinges when she was with Olivia. The other OBGYN noticed. She asked how long Asher has been in labor and it turns out it started hours ago. She was so scared that she didn’t want to leave her post. She said early labor could take hours.

She was scared about having the baby. She’s been scared ever since she found out she was having a girl. Her own mother died in childbirth so Asher believed that if she didn’t think about it that it would all work out. Real life doesn’t work that way. Asher soon realized it.

She went to Olivia to say goodbye as she geared up for her own delivery when a Code Silver was called. There was an escaped prisoner somewhere in the hospital. His name was Wyett Dupere. He came in with a stab wound to his leg. And he seemed to be focusing on another prisoner.

Dr. Lenox didn’t realize until much later on that Dupere’s injury was self-inflicted. He put himself in the hospital. He wanted to be near his victim. It was the patient he was grilling.

Dupere came in from the super max ward. He has deep anger issues that he couldn’t let go. He was perfectly fine with that one wound to his leg. It missed the nerves. He knew how to cut and where. They were practice wounds on him. It took extra testing to notice and that’s what tipped off Lenox. She went looking for him.

He had already killed the prison guard protecting him. He was missing. Lenox was panicked and the whole hospital went on lockdown. Asher ended up getting stuck with Olivia.

She has to deliver her baby while also in labor. Her water broke tonight. Ripley meanwhile got stuck in a room with Lenox. They finally discussed the problem. She was in love with him and she didn’t want to be in love as she was dying.

Dr. Charles also figured out Rabari. Rabari has anti-social personality disorder. He was misdiagnosed as a child and so now he wants to remove the human element out of psychiatry. Yes, he’s that kind of crazy. Its why he’s pushing for Charles’s job.

THE END!
