In tonight’s NCIS: New York episode, the New York field office was working a robbery. The robbery was carried out using military grade C4. NYPD have been tracking this robbery crew for a while and this was the first time they used military weapons. It was either an upgrade or possibly a different crew.

What is known was that they never meant to kill anyone. They ended up doing so anyways. Their explosives killed a young man named Ben Gellman. Ben snuck into the shop to show his girlfriend Corrine his grandmother’s necklace. He was hoping to one day give it to her. They were getting serious about each other when the floor under them gave way due to those explosives.

The same ones that haven’t been reported missing. It was then up to NCIS to determine how the explosives were hitting the street and get back every bit of it. They checked the nearby naval depot.

They claimed they were diligent in carrying out their duty. They also hesitated in proving that it was there because there could only be two people responsible for falsifying the records. One of the suspects disappeared the moment NCIS came to ask questions. His name is Petty Officer Joaquin Ricci.

Ricci saw when the NCIS Agents went in. He then told a buddy that he had a family emergency. He disappeared in the middle of his shift and it turned him from one of the suspects into the primary suspect.

They put out a BOLO for him. Addy and Milk were tracking him down as Sam and Nick were checking out the crime scene. These men were good. They took things that could easily be fenced. They didn’t go for the most expensive items. They were experienced in what they did and moved in and out in little time.

They suspected they were the original crew. One that were upgraded after meeting with Ricci. The team also suspected that Ricci’s brother might be involved.

Sam got a bad a feeling around the guy. The first thing he asked when he saw two federal agents was what kind of trouble has little brother gotten into now. The brothers live together. They have since their parents passed away. The older brother took custody of Ricci. He said it was his duty and Sam’s instinct was telling him not to trust that man.

Nick was searching the house while Sam was talking to Matteo Ricci. He found an old football photo that his own instinct told him might be important. He took a photo of the photo. It’s a good thing too because they found the cleaning van used in the robbery. There had been two people tied up in the back. They were the true owners of the cleaning company. It was their van. They weren’t killed outright. They were merely taken prisoner. Someone messed up by leaving those two alive and they also left behind their DNA. It was two men with long rap sheets. And they were in the football photo.

Nick’s instinct helped him to realize how Ricci got involved with this crew. They all knew each other from the football team in high school. Coach Villante was leading them. He was an older man that made people fiercely loyal to him. He pretended to be a mentor even as he led them all down the wrong path. Its how they learned he got his hooks into Ricci’s brother. Matteo was a gambling addict. It started on phone via the apps. He then got banned from there and so he went to good old coach who he already knew was a thug.

The coach part merely hides his real operation. He was a loan shark who also committed robberies on the side. Matteo owed him eighty thousand dollars and he couldn’t pay. He all but sold his brother to the man so that he wouldn’t get killed for the money. In spite of that, he still spoke as if he didn’t think he had a problem. Sam brought him in for questioning once they determined he was also in the football photo. Matteo confessed to everything. He told them the whole story and he still didn’t see how he destroyed his brother’s life.

He still spoke of gambling as him just being down for the moment. He never once mentioned seeking treatment and that’s because he never did. He instead convinced himself that a man like Villante would let his brother go after a few jobs. Sam pointed out the obvious lie. He also said it must’ve been Ricci who protected the couple with the van and that he never meant to harm anyone. He was just trying to repay his brother’s debt. The mentors that were supposed to help him had also ruined his life.

It sucks, but they soon found the crew and Sam had to arrest Ricci. Nick suffered a concussion in the line of duty. He stopped Villante from getting away. And getting that man off the street was the most important thing.

THE END!
