General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) have a serious disagreement in their future, but some life-threatening drama has to play out first.
Britt was caught off guard when Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) wanted to meet in such a secluded area, but she went to Mount Emerson anyway.
Anna left Britt stunned and fearful when she pulled a gun on her moments later.
Since Anna said she wanted to come there so no one could hear Britt scream, Britt knows she’s deeply disturbed.
By now, Britt has realized that Anna hasn’t truly recovered from her mental breakdown.
Jason will realize that too when he shows up and pleads with Anna not to pull the trigger.
“Peter August” (Wes Ramsey) will keep pushing Anna to do what needs to be done, but Jason will save Britt from a grisly outcome.
However, Britt’s relief and gratitude may ultimately turn to resentment.
Jason is obviously going to feel for Anna in this situation and know she wouldn’t be doing this if she weren’t mentally ill.
After all the time Anna spent in captivity on Spoon Island and then stuck at the clinic in France, the last thing she wants is to get locked back up again.
Anna may promise to get more treatment, but she may fear she wouldn’t survive somewhere like Ferncliff or worse.
Will Jason want Britt to keep quiet about what happened and let Anna get help in a more discreet way?
Jason may insist it shouldn’t be about punishment; it should be about helping Anna get truly well.
Britt may understand that on some level, but another part of her may feel like Anna deserves to pay for nearly killing her.
Whatever the case, Britt will view Anna as a threat and will perhaps argue she deserves to be locked up indefinitely.
Since Jason and Britt will find themselves deadlocked over something according to September GH preview spoilers, that may relate to this Anna mayhem.
Anna and her unhinged actions could set the stage for Britt and Jason’s romantic split.
In the end, Britt may feel like this is another situation where Jason isn’t willing to put her first.
Britt’s old insecurities regarding Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) could come back into play and leave her thinking Jason is now putting Anna above her, too.
