General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Chris McKenna’s (Jack Brennan) time on the ABC soap recently came to an end. It looks like some other fired cast members could be headed for the exit door soon enough.
McKenna was given the boot from the show, so he was forced to play dead in the Metro Court pool after Brennan met a grim fate.
The now former ABC soap star opened up about that in an interview with TV Insider and talked about GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini giving him a bottle of bourbon on his last day.
McKenna noted that Valentini offered the bourbon instead of flowers, which led to an intriguing admission about another recent exit as well as more potential departures to come.
“Also, Paige Herschell [Jacinda Bracken] and I both found out on the same day that we were being let go, so I wanted to make sure that she got her flowers literally and figuratively and everyone felt supported,” McKenna said. “I’ve been through this before, and it was new for some others.”
Of course, Herschell made her final appearance as Jacinda on August 11, so she’s already wrapped her run.
However, it’s interesting that McKenna seemingly talked about the firing experience being “new for some others.”
That implies that more firings could be in the works.
McKenna obviously couldn’t spill any exits that haven’t been announced yet, so maybe that was why he mentioned Herschell by name and then followed it up with that vague “some others” comment.
In other words, McKenna was free to talk about Herschell since Jacinda’s exit already aired.
That may not be the case if McKenna knows about other looming departures that haven’t been confirmed or hit the screen.
The show’s been adding cast members lately, so it makes sense that they’re also getting rid of some actors to make room for those new additions.
