General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the week of August 17-21 hint that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will present a wild deal to Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) when he pays the man a visit at Pentonville.
In fact, this week’s General Hospital promo shows a clip of Sonny and Sidwell’s showdown in the prison.
The criminal walks into the visitor area stating he’s not shocked to see Sonny, while the mob boss comments on Sidwell’s prison jumpsuit, noting he doesn’t think beige is Sidwell’s color.
Interesting pleasantries considering how intense things got between Sidwell and Sonny in Port Charles during the height of their feud. So, what’s the reason behind Sonny’s visit?
Sonny made a shocking decision some weeks ago to follow in Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) footsteps and finally exit the mob.
He’s been on a bit of a tour, telling people in his life about what he has planned.
First, it was his brother and lawyer, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), as the two came up with a strategy to help Sonny exit the land of organized crime.
He also told his love interest, Acting District Attorney Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor), even though the news changed nothing in terms of the two going public with their romance.
After all, there’s no statute of limitations on the crimes Sonny has committed in the past, and she could still go after him.
The last thing she wants is to compromise her career over this budding relationship.
As such, this week, General Hospital spoilers note that Sonny will also see Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).
The two will find common ground, and it sounds like he’ll continue his tour of spilling the beans that he’s going legitimate.
Still, a key part of this puzzle is obtaining some of Sidwell’s assets to streamline the entire process.
The assets are set to go up for auction; however, Sonny won’t be the only one bidding on these items, as Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) wants a piece of Sidwell’s old pie, as well as Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
So, with that said, will Sonny go to Pentonville to tell Sidwell what he has planned?
Considering their history, there’s no way that Sidwell will help the man with his endeavor.
After all, Sonny is the reason Sidwell is in prison! But what if Sonny could offer Sidwell something in return?
As ADA Turner pointed out during the Friday, August 14 show, Sonny has a lot of contacts on “the inside”.
How bearable is prison life for Sidwell right now? Could Sonny’s insane agreement be that he’ll help Sidwell become an “untouchable” man in prison if Sidwell gave him some insider information on how to score his assets in that auction?
General Hospital spoilers note that there is no love lost between Sidwell and Sonny, so them coming to terms with any deal would be a miracle in itself – so it’ll be interesting to see what this prison visit will be about.
