General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the show may have just offered a glimpse of the future.
There may be a long-term plan in play that involves Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) reuniting, even if it takes some time to get there!
In the August 10 episode, Michael came to Willow’s rescue after he learned Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) drugged her.
Since Michael was concerned about Willow potentially bailing on her work calls and getting behind the wheel, he raced over to check on her.
That led to Michael making sure Willow was safe along with the kids.
The show leaned into the family angle since Michael promised to make up for the missed arcade trip by agreeing they’d all do something together.
Willow and Michael’s old connection also shined through in some of their private scenes.
Since Willow was high, it brought out a softer version of her and seemed to remind Michael of the woman he used to love.
Likewise, Willow enjoyed Michael’s tender side when he tucked her in on the sofa.
There was a sweetness to Michael’s voice that Willow hadn’t heard in a long time, so the pair reminisced about being on better terms.
It’s clear that Willow has a ton of chemistry with Rory Gibson’s version of Michael, but the show’s never had a chance to fully explore it.
By the time Gibson made his debut in the role, Michael was already at odds with Willow over her relationship with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and their custody feud.
Of course, things got even worse after that, but the August 11 episode offered a little taste of what could be Willow and Michael’s inevitable reunion.
There were moments when it seemed like Willow might even kiss Michael in her drugged state.
It would’ve been exciting and soapy if Willow actually had planted a smooch, but the writers ultimately held back a bit.
Even so, anyone can see that Michael and Willow sparkle together, so that could lead to some sizzling again somewhere down the line.
That said, Willow and Michael’s custody battle is about to flare back up over Jacinda Bracken’s (Paige Herschell) drugging fiasco, so a romantic reunion won’t happen anytime soon.
Michael will get some help from Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) as he goes up against Willow since they know the truth about her shooting Drew.
Despite the chaos that’s played and the chaos that’s still to come, many fans suspect Willow and Michael’s chemistry will win out in the end.
Social media has been blowing up with viewers predicting Michael and Willow’s eventual next chapter.
It may be a rocky road to reach that reunion, but GH writers may have just laid the groundwork for Michael and Willow to get back together.
