General Hospital Thursday, April 23 Recap: Willow’s Dirty Brennan Deal – Drew Getting New Communication Tools

General Hospital (GH) recap for Thursday, April 23, reveals that Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) caught Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) off guard while Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) got a shock of her own.

Here’s how Thursday’s GH action played out.

While Willow was busy at the office, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) watched over Drew.

Nina admitted she knew everything and shut down all Drew’s blinking since nobody was going to save him.

However, Elizabeth brought over some medical supplies for Drew and caught Nina off guard.

While Nina was on a work call, Drew blinked an SOS to Liz, who realized he was asking for help – though she couldn’t understand beyond that.

Even so, Elizabeth thought this was great news and suggested to Nina that Drew would benefit from some other methods of communication like eye-tracking devices or letter boards.

Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) showed up and learned about Drew’s attempt to communicate as well.

Nina seemed nervous at the prospect of Drew getting new tools that could help him rat Willow out, but she pretended Willow would be thrilled over this development.

In Willow’s office, she summoned Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), who assumed Nina had told her daughter about his upper hand.

Willow confirmed that she knew about Brennan’s blackmail, but she felt they could either help each other or ruin each other.

Willow pointed out that she was on the committee that controlled the WSB’s funding, so she could block money or make sure the funds flowed freely instead.

Willow could also make it seem like Brennan’s harassment was a problem and get him reassigned or perhaps thrown out altogether.

On the flip side, Willow could also sing Brennan’s praises if he cooperated and potentially push for his promotion.

Brennan was surprised over Willow’s threats and bribes, but he seemed a little impressed.

In return for helping Brennan, Willow expected the traffic cam footage to stay buried and wanted any dirt Brennan could find on Drew.

Brennan questioned what kind of leverage she was looking for, but Willow wasn’t picky and just wanted everything he could dig up – especially if there was anything related to Judge Eva Heran’s (Tessa Auberjonois) demise.

Brennan didn’t get why Willow needed leverage at all considering Drew couldn’t speak or move, but Willow suggested it was up to her to decide what she did with whatever info he provided.

Meanwhile, Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) enjoyed their New York City getaway, which included some time backstage at Aladdin and a hangout with Michael James Scott (who plays Genie) before the show.

Emma and Gio eventually took their seats and settled in for the performance while the drama continued back in Port Charles.

After Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) showed up at the law office looking for Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) opinion on Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean), she recapped his messy history with Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) and defended his loyalty.

At the Metro Court Gardens, Kristina quizzed Sonny and found out he’d hired Ethan on a trial basis, but Sonny was adamant about Ethan needing to prove himself. Kristina also objected to Sonny trusting Ric and angrily voiced concerns about him.

Over with Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell), they had a little afternoon delight in a Metro Court suite.

Jacinda wanted to get Brennan the Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) intel he was after and score info against Willow in return, but Michael didn’t want her tangled up in Brennan drama.

Once Jacinda and Michael found Kristina with Sonny, there was some talk about Ethan’s return and new job.

Sonny eventually spoke to Kristina about Michael’s relationship with Jacinda, so she praised Jacinda for being the kind of person where what you see is what you get.

Kristina thought Jacinda was different than Willow, who turned out to be a totally different person.

At the Metro Court restaurant, Ethan surprised Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) by showing up for lunch in Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) place.

Tracy quizzed Ethan about what he was doing for money these days and learned he was now working for Sonny.

Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) sat down for a meal with Ava Jerome (Maura West) nearby, so he recognized Ethan as the son of traitor Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) and sent drinks over to Ethan’s table with Tracy.

After Ethan rejected the drinks, he traded veiled threats with Sidwell before Tracy privately told Ethan about Sidwell’s Deception invasion.

When Ethan offered to take care of Sidwell for Tracy, she suggested Sidwell was out of his league and pushed Ethan to steer clear of him instead.

Tracy didn’t want to have to mourn Ethan like she mourned Luke, but Ethan couldn’t make any promises about staying away from Sidwell.

General Hospital spoilers say Ethan and Sidwell’s beef may be far from over, so stay tuned.
