General Hospital (GH) recap for Thursday, October 15, reveals that Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) bugged Hudson Parker’s (Troy Lennon Appel) briefcase as part of his latest plan with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) also had some difficult news to share with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) at GH, so here’s how all Friday’s action went down.
At Sonny’s house, he made it clear to Ric that Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) former stepdaughter status meant he wouldn’t go after her.
Sonny wanted to go after Hudson instead, but he wasn’t in the business of eliminating people anymore.
After acknowledging that money could be a powerful motivator, Sonny suggested blackmail and threats were options, too.
Some dirt could be helpful in getting Hudson to walk away from Josslyn and JJE, so Ric headed off to find out his weak spot.
At the boxing gym, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) struggled to focus and got a pep talk from Hudson regarding Phoebe Chase (Luna and Lucia Creighton).
Phoebe was young enough that she wouldn’t even remember her adoptive parents being together, but Chase was still upset over his family with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Phoebe breaking up.
Mac Scorpio (John J. York) eventually sought Chase out since the detective’s exam was coming up, but Chase had a lot on his plate.
Plus, Chase felt like his hours as a beat cop were better for Phoebe right now.
In William Baines (Alimi Ballard) office, he put Josslyn on blast for defying orders and pointed out that could get her sent to Steinmauer.
Josslyn defended her purchase of Sonny’s old piers for JJE and wondered who would run JJE if she got sent away.
Baines backed down a bit, but he made it clear that Josslyn would have to drop things at JJE when she was told to or else she’d pay the price.
The conversation shifted to Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins Bruening) accusations against Willow, so Josslyn questioned whether the WSB actually had a paralytic that could mimic a stroke.
Baines noted that the bureau was going to put out a statement denying it, but Josslyn obviously knew from personal experience that the public story wasn’t always accurate.
Baines seemed determined to take a closer look at Willow and how she could be connected to what happened to Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna).
Back at Volonino’s Gym, Ric showed up and started an argument with Hudson, but Josslyn came along to put Ric in his place.
Josslyn felt that Ric and Sonny needed to accept defeat when it came to the piers.
At one point, Ric slipped into the locker room and broke in Hudson’s locker.
After Ric grabbed Hudson’s briefcase and planted a listening device, he put the briefcase back where he found it.
Ric later used that listening device to start eavesdropping on Hudson’s conversations and confirmed to Sonny over the phone that he’d taken the next step.
As for Mac, he realized Josslyn was determined to take down Sonny and gently tried to steer her away from the idea since it’d come with sacrifices.
At the Quartermaine estate, Lulu lured Willow to the main house under false pretenses so they could clash over the libel lawsuit.
Lulu ultimately offered to print a correction about Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) being heavily medicated during his interview, but it wasn’t enough.
Willow wouldn’t accept anything less than a full retraction.
Since Lulu refused, Willow made it clear that she was more than willing to destroy Lulu’s reputation.
Lulu suggested dragging things out in court was only going to make things worse for Willow.
When Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) showed up with questions for Willow about Brennan’s vanishing act, Willow stayed in denial mode.
After Willow acted like it was Lulu’s fault that the police were grilling her, she stomped off.
Joe quizzed Lulu next, so she played up the similarities in Brennan and Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) situations.
Lulu felt Joe was right to be suspicious of Willow, so Joe decided to dig deeper into Brennan’s activities before he went missing.
At GH, Monet Mitchell (Blythe Howard) wanted to use a PR strategy to play Curtis up as a hero for saving Sidwell in prison.
Curtis admitted Drew might be able to help with the interview, but he wanted Monet to be careful considering Drew’s track record.
When Willow arrived, she met Monet and learned Curtis had hired her as his new lawyer.
The governor wasn’t taking Willow’s calls, so she couldn’t help Curtis with his legal problems.
Monet took some jabs over the article and acted like it was best for Willow to stay away from anything to do with Curtis’ case.
Curtis was disappointed since it looked like he’d have to go back to Pentonville instead of Spring Ridge for now, but Monet suggested it could work in their favor.
It would allow them to work the “hero in danger” angle.
General Hospital spoilers say Monet still has a few tricks up her sleeve, so stay tuned.
