General Hospital (GH) recap for Wednesday, July 29, reveals that Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) made a power play while Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) took charge of Scout Quartermaine (Kayden Brenna Tokarski) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) had an intriguing morning.
At GH, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) got a shock when Drew walked in using a cane and wished them a good morning.
Drew was with Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight), who had given him a ride.
After Drew’s visit with his neurologist, Felicia praised Willow for being such a hero during his ordeal.
Drew said he was well aware of everything Willow had done and suggested he just needed to find the best way to “thank” her.
Elizabeth and Felicia eventually gossiped over Drew and Willow’s sudden divorce news, but Felicia felt like they needed to back off and let them handle it.
When Willow interrupted Molly Lansing-Davis’ (Kristen Vaganos) conversation with her mom at Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) place, she wanted Alexis to represent her in the divorce.
Alexis and Molly found out Drew was no longer locked in, so they were both taken aback.
After Alexis rejected Willow’s case, she pointed out that she couldn’t alienate Drew since he was back in charge of Scout.
Once Willow was gone, Drew came over to Alexis house next with Martin in tow.
That brought complaints about Alexis violating the restraining orders Drew had put in place.
Drew made it clear that he was taking Scout back home with him and that he intended to shut Alexis out.
Alexis grew angry and suggested someone would shoot Drew again since he clearly hadn’t changed.
Scout came home from swim practice and was shocked over Drew standing there, so she ran into his warm embrace.
As Drew hugged an emotional Scout, he vowed that they would never be separated again.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) got a warm welcome home from the Q family and heard about Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) damaging the speedboat when he took it out last night.
Jason insisted Danny would get his job back at the Metro Court pool to pay for it, so Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) was looking forward to having him around again.
Gio also wound up mentioning the excitement with Drew and explained the whole rescue situation.
Jason, Danny, Michael Corithos (Rory Gibson), Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) were all there for this discussion.
Now that Drew was walking and talking again, Tracy was ready to put his lifetime ban from the Quartermaine property back in place.
Danny wound up convincing Tracy to soften her stance for Scout’s sake, so Tracy agreed Drew could be there when Scout visited if she kept him on a leash.
As for Michael, he confronted Willow in her office now that Drew was back in the picture.
Michael was ready to ditch their custody agreement since he refused to let Drew be in the kids’ lives.
Willow insisted that wouldn’t be a problem since she was divorcing Drew.
However, Willow said she was glad Michael brought up the custody agreement since she now wanted 50-50 and liked her odds in court if Michael fought her on it.
Michael ultimately stomped off leaving Willow feeling like she’d won, so she gloated while looking at a framed photo of Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sienna Goerisch).
At the Metro Court pool, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) discussed Drew’s miraculous recovery after all the lake drama.
Since Kai and Trina knew Willow shot Drew, they speculated that she pushed him in the water, too.
Drew didn’t go straight to the police, so Trina assumed he was now blackmailing Willow.
Trina wanted Kai to resign and felt like they could wash their hands of this mess now, but Kai remained worried about the kids since Drew and Willow were so toxic.
Trina suggested maybe they should tell Michael that they knew for a fact that Willow shot Drew.
In Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) office, he acknowledged that maybe his nudge to kill Drew was in the back of Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) mind when she pushed him in the lake.
Brennan also talked about repaying Nina for saving his life and eventually asked her to dinner.
Nina hesitated, but she eventually let Brennan pull her into a hot kiss.
In a suite at the Metro Court, Ava Jerome (Maura West) woke up with a snoring Ethan Lovett (Christian Howard) after hitting the sheets with him the night before.
Ethan flirted and tried to order room service, but Ava questioned his motives for taking her to bed.
After Ethan insisted he genuinely liked Ava and thought she was beautiful, she lowered her guard a bit and agreed to have breakfast together.
General Hospital spoilers say Ava and Ethan’s attempt at a romance will soon be derailed, so stay tuned.
