General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that fans have been waiting for an explanation regarding Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) departure from the canvas, so now one has finally arrived.
Storms was just given a more permanent exit story since she’s no longer part of the show.
Maxie’s family vacation is over, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be seen in Port Charles again.
Instead, Maxie is moving with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and the kids to Australia since Spinelli scored a new job there.
Considering all the Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) chaos that erupted, this provides a much-needed fresh start for Maxie and those closest to her.
Maxie’s Australia plans were confirmed in the July 23 episode.
It’s possible the role of Maxie could be recast down the road, but there are obviously no immediate plans to do that.
Maxie was given a more permanent departure instead and will be living far away from PC, so that’s how GH writers are dealing with Kirsten Storms’ exit.
It was also revealed that Maxie sold her Deception shares to Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson).
That twist came as quite a shock to Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).
It was yet another way for the show to handle Maxie’s absence and spin things in a new direction.
A Serena Baldwin (Kelly Kruger) recast is also on the way, so she’ll help fill the void now that Maxie’s gone from Deception.
Kirsten Storms has made it clear that she doesn’t see herself returning to Los Angeles and the part of Maxie.
In fact Storms recently made an announcement on social media that pointed to her shift away from acting overall.
Of course, the most important thing is that Storms can focus on any personal issues that she’s hoping to resolve.
We all wish Storms the best in whatever the future holds for her.
