General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) is moving to Australia to accept a new job offer.
Spinelli couldn’t turn down an amazing opportunity, but many fans have questions now that he’s being written out.
GH writers obviously needed to keep Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) off-screen anyway since Storms isn’t returning to the ABC soap.
Instead of recasting, the show opted to just send Maxie to Australia for a fresh start with Spinelli and the kids.
However, Bradford Anderson has been on recurring status for years and only pops up from time to time.
Spinelli can still fly back home and visit if someone like Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) or someone else he cares about needs him for a special project.
In other words, there’s no reason to think this is Spinelli’s forever exit.
Spinelli will inevitably make appearances here and there just like Brad Cooper (Parry Shen), Amy Driscoll (Risa Dorken) and other recurring characters.
Spinelli had already been off-screen on vacation with Maxie, Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher) and Bailey Louise Jones (Miley and Riley Plonski) before this Australia job offer came up.
The show doesn’t have much of a purpose for Spinelli these days, so it makes sense to give him some happiness with Maxie, Georgie, Bailey Lou and James West (temporarily played by Easton Winn) as they all seek a new beginning.
Of course, some GH fans might’ve preferred to have Spinelli stick around and have another love interest that would keep him on-screen.
Others are fine with Spinelli getting a happy ending with Maxie and still being able to make Port Charles visits occasionally in tech geek mode.
No matter how you feel about the situation, Bradford Anderson will always be part of the GH family.
