In tonight’s Law & Order SVU episode, Captain Curry’s son found something. Gabe visited a thrift store with his friends. He and his friends bought a bunch of stuff from there. This included some old cassette tapes that were vintage now. They played one of them and it was clear that it was a sexual assault.

Gabe immediately took the tape to his mom. They also checked the other tapes. The others were all music. It was just this one tape that was wrong. Curry informed her boss at SVU. It launched an official investigation in which they found if anything else was on the tape and there was.

The tape had been degauss. Someone tried to wipe it because it was diction tape. The owner recorded date and address. It showed the crime happened back in 1997.

The cops learned from the thrift store where it came from. It was an estate sale from 533 West 46th Street. A known westie’s affiliate address. They went there to search the building, but what they found was a body. The body was identified as Tameka Davis. She disappeared from her apartment and it was the same location that was erased from the videotape. She was reported missing by her mother.

Tameka had a little boy that was now thirty-one. His name is Jayden Davis. He and his grandmother identified the voice on the tape as Tameka’s. Tameka was dating Miles Gibbs.

He was in one of the gangs fighting for control over that area. The two of them were on the outs when she went missing. The cops were putting on the pressure and he was moving crack. By time, he figured out she was missing it was too late. His gang was up against the Westies. They were also taking on a third gang that no one talked about back then because they were cops.

The Narcotics division in the 90s was like the Wild Wild West. They did everything possible to close a case. Finn would know because he came from Narcotics.

He knew there were a lot of guys that couldn’t be trusted. The cops also remembered what Tameka’s mother told them about her. She said that Tameka and Gibbs were on the outs because Gibbs thought Tameka talked too much. She might have been talking to the cops for all they knew. Tameka allegedly hated drugs. She hated what it was doing to the community.

The theory proved to be true when they went digging through the files on Gibbs’s arrest. The cops brought him down with the help of an informant. The informant was Tameka. Tameka agreed to have her apartment bugged. The recording of her rape came from one of those tapes. Tameka was sexually assaulted by a cop.

They then covered it up. There was four undercover cops from Narcotics working the case. One of them had to be their killer. They were also thieves. Gibbs said cops were always raiding stash houses back then and yet they only recorded two of those raids.

It’s how some of them got rich. They were all retired now. There was also a second victim. There were hands and feet in the same bag with Tameka’s remains. They belonged to one of the cops. His name was Jerry Kuenzel. He retired right before Gibb’s arrest. He retired early. Meaning no full pension. He also didn’t get rich like the others. Benson showed a photo of the cops to Tiffany and Jayden Davis. Jayden remembered Jerry. He remembered that Jerry came to their apartment one night to warn Tameka that she had to get out of there.

He promised her that he could take somewhere safe that night. The incident happened right before she disappeared. Jayden always thought that his mother abandoned him and now he knows he’s wrong. She had a chance to run. She didn’t take it because she wouldn’t leave him. She was taken from him by those cops.

Jerry was killed right after Tameka. There was another cop that died after retiring to Florida. It was just two cops left to face the repercussions. Their names were Thomas Ahearn and Leo Leo Eikmeier.

They were both living the high life. They were wealthy with large homes. They made themselves rich back in the day. It was just Jerry that was different. He didn’t take the money. He tried to help Tameka.

He knew one of his other cops was fixated on her. He tried to save her from that and he failed. He then quits the force. His buddies reached out to him afterwards. They asked him join them for a trip. Jerry took the offer and he never came back. His wife thought he walked out on her. She never reported missing because she was still cashing his pension checks.

The rest of Jerry’s remains were found Eikmeier’s property. He and Ahearn planned on destroying them when cops arrested them. Ahearn quickly flipped on Eikmeier.

He said it was Eikmeier with the fixation. He’s the one that was obsessed with Tameka to the point he made a move on her in full view of Ahearn. He then told Ahearn to get lost. Which he did. The next thing Ahearn knows his buddy told him that Tameka flipped out on him. He was forced to put her down so his friends helped him get rid of the body.

Ahearn admitted they stole drugs from the gangs back then. Ahearn’s wife has a cousin that was a Westie. Ahearn sold drugs to him and he got his help in getting rid of the bodies.

Eikmeier even bragged to Gibbs when he arrested him that he raped and killed Tameka. The feds have a recording of it. One that probably got rid of by now. Gibbs still testified in court. He helped them find Eikmeier guilty of all charges. Ahearn will serve five years as well. He didn’t escape charges. And Eikmeier said something to Griff before he went down.

He said that Griff’s father hadn’t been a saint either. Griff tried to follow up on it and the new Chief shut it down. She then wanted him to look through some old cases for her because she has a vendetta against Captain Benson. The same woman that loves this job so much that she fights for her people.

THE END!
