The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, April 17, reveals that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will come to the rescue in Vegas while Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) deceives Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) via text.
When Chelsea speaks with Sharon over the phone, she’ll admit Nick is missing and that Adam went with Matt in hopes of finding him.
Since Adam hasn’t been back in touch yet, Sharon will have a bad feeling about all this.
Matt will eventually show back up at the hotel suite, so Chelsea will get off the phone with Sharon and let him in.
Chelsea will angrily demand answers at first, so Matt will call her “hot stuff” and taunt her a bit.
After Chelsea takes a softer approach and pleads for Matt’s help, he still won’t provide info beyond his lie about Nick being dead.
Matt will insist he’s going to disappear like a Vegas magician and will head out moments later.
Next on Friday’s Y&R episode, Adam will regain consciousness following that blow to the head and will manage to wake Nick up, too.
Once Adam fills Nick in on Chelsea’s arrival and Matt’s claim that Nick was deceased, he’ll quiz Nick about whether he’s hooked on drugs.
Nick will suggest Matt gave him a hefty dose of something when he put him in that room, but he’ll deny any addiction problems.
Adam will eventually notice a phone on the wall and call Chelsea’s number, so she’ll be relieved to hear from him.
After Adam identifies the area where the storage closet is located, Chelsea will carry out a search.
It won’t be long until Adam hears Chelsea shouting his name, so he’ll call out to Chelsea and let her know they’re behind that particular door.
Chelsea will manage to free Adam and Nick, but Nick will spot some nearby drug baggies and secretly swipe them from the storage closet.
Once Nick, Adam and Chelsea all make it back to the suite, Nick will give himself a boost in the bathroom and act like he’s as good as new.
Nick will want to hold off on contacting Sharon until they have more Matt info out of fear she’ll be on the first flight out to Vegas.
Since Nick will assume Matt couldn’t have gone far, he’ll be determined to take him down.
On the elevator, Matt will use Nick’s stolen phone to make Sharon believe Nick is texting her.
Sharon will assume Nick has Matt and that he’s inviting them to Vegas for Matt’s takedown, so Noah will wonder what they’re waiting for.
Sharon will text back that they’re on their way, so Matt will look at her response and smirk as he looks forward to seeing her again.
In Genoa City, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will mull over ways to fix their marriages, but they’ll only manage to think of options that won’t work or would make things worse.
Once Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) arrives, he’ll take some jabs over finding Jack and Nikki together.
When Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) pops up, she’ll admit Victor was apparently right about Jack and will suggest he’s a better judge of character than her when it comes to her husband.
Jack will struggle to believe Diane means that, so she’ll wonder if he’s feeling betrayed and point out that’s how she feels.
Jack will lash out at Victor for all the damage he’s done and make it clear that he’ll get payback if it’s the last thing he does.
In Lauren Fenmore Baldwin’s (Tracey E. Bregman) new office, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will surprise her with flowers, a card, a gift and a bottle of bubbly.
Michael and Lauren will share a dance before enjoying some reckless office passion.
