The Young and the Restless Friday, May 29 Recap: Patty Accused of Kidnapping Diane, Jack & Kyle Demand Answers

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, May 29, reveals that Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) will face some startling accusations when Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) turn to her for information about Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters).

At the Abbott mansion, Kyle will worry since Diane has been missing work meetings she scheduled herself and isn’t responding to emails.

Plus, the housekeeper at the GCAC said Diane’s bed hadn’t been slept in.

Jack won’t seem all that concerned at first since Diane has been avoiding him for a while now.

Since Kyle has tried to stay neutral about his parents’ marriage drama, Jack will act like maybe Diane is avoiding him, too.

However, Kyle will point out that Diane helped Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) work on his lines for a play and wouldn’t have voluntarily missed the performance.

Jack will realize there may be cause for concern after all and will suggest talking to Patty.

At Crimson Lights, Patty will send Matt a text and worry about what happened to him.

When Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) pops up, Patty will accuse Phyllis of manipulating Matt and ruining his life when Patty’s just trying to save him.

Phyllis will wonder if Patty’s been trying to put on a show for Jack and will make it clear that Patty will never get her claws into Matt either.

Once Jack and Kyle arrive, they’ll demand to know what Patty did with Diane.

Phyllis will seem taken aback over the news that Diane is missing, but she’ll take off and let the Abbott men deal with Patty alone.

Despite Kyle and Jack’s fear that Patty might’ve stashed Diane somewhere, Patty will act like it’s no surprise that Diane bailed on her family again.

Patty will hint that with Diane out of the way, Jack will eventually remember his connection with her instead.

That “out of the way” comment will leave Jack and Kyle even more concerned, but Patty won’t admit to doing anything to Diane.

Patty will continue to act like Diane must’ve bailed on her own and will suggest she’s probably gone for good.

At the Newman ranch, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will try to reassure everyone after being kept at the hospital overnight and discharged.

There’ll be questions about how Nick overdosed when he’s supposed to be in rehab, but he’ll want to focus on Matt Clark (Roger Howarth).

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will assure Nick that Matt is secure on the property and act like that’s all his son needs to know right now.

Nick will disagree and want to see Matt right away.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will push for an explanation of what went down in Phyllis’ office since they weren’t present for it.

When Nick finds out Matt and Phyllis saved his life, he’ll be shocked.

Nick will fume over them letting “that maniac” aka Matt touch him, but Nikki and the others will just be glad Nick survived.

There’ll be some debate about Matt’s amnesia, but Sharon will feel like some buried instinct must’ve kicked in.

It seemed like Matt genuinely wanted to help.

Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) and the others will also debate what happens to Matt now.

Nick will acknowledge that they aren’t dealing with the same psycho and will question how they can get real retribution.

Victor will ultimately agree to take Nick to Matt if he promises he’ll go to rehab after.

Nick will indeed promise, so he’ll end up confronting Matt in the Newman workout room.

After Phyllis shows up at the Newman ranch, she’ll get Sharon, Victoria and Nikki’s gratitude for her role in saving Nick.

Phyllis will play Matt up as the hero instead and will acknowledge that she was willing to hand him over to Victor.

Phyllis won’t seem thrilled about that, so she’ll admit that the Matt she knows is nothing like the criminal she’s heard about.

While Phyllis demands to see Nick, Victor and Adam will play chess as they discuss Nick’s situation elsewhere.

Adam will think Victor needs to be the one who decides Matt’s fate.

Next, Nick will confront Matt, who’ll be glad Nick’s OK since he’s seen the love that Nick’s family has for him.

Nick will wonder if Matt expects redemption, but Matt will question whether one good deed erases all his mistakes.

Matt will talk about the disconnect he feels due to his unexplained memory flashes and these crimes that he can’t comprehend committing.

That said, Matt will see the way everyone looks at him and will know how loathed he is.

Matt will acknowledge that Nick could kill him, so he’ll seem ready to accept that fate if that’s what Nick decides – though he’ll hope saving Nick took him a step closer to saving his soul.

Nick will acknowledge that he could finish Matt off right now, but Matt would still be sitting there with that stupid expression.

It’ll leave Nick wondering where the justice is before he starts whacking a nearby punching bag.

As Friday’s Y&R episode wraps up, Nick will angrily grab Matt and hold his fist above him like he’s still contemplating an attack.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nick has more struggles in his future, so stay tuned.
