The Young and the Restless Monday, April 13 Recap: Matt Fuels Nick’s Drug Addiction – Riza Slaps Adam Over Trick

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Monday, April 13, reveals that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) will decide to use Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) drug problem against him while Riza Thomson (Tina Casciani) retaliates over Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) deception.

After Nick’s phone cuts off, Adam will try to call him back and won’t get an answer.

The door to Riza’s suite will be locked, so Adam will get her to open it when she returns.

There’ll be no sign of “Ronnie,” which is the name Riza’s partner currently goes by.

Adam will start demanding answers about Nick and will ask if the name Matt Clark means anything to Riza, but she won’t recognize it.

Once Adam tries Mitch Bacall next, Riza will admit that was her partner’s name before he changed it to Ronnie.

Adam will explain Matt’s vendetta against Nick and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), so Riza will realize getting back in the game was just a ruse.

After Riza slaps Adam and nearly does it again, Adam will stop her and push for help getting Nick back.

In a storage room, Matt will take the bag off Nick’s head and taunt him for being dumb enough to fall into his trap, which involved using Adam to lure Nick into his web.

Matt will also point out that the guys Nick bought drugs from worked for him.

Nick will wonder if Matt intends to kill him, but Matt will insist he’s going to “help” Nick instead.

Once Matt sarcastically suggests he doesn’t want to see Nick in pain, he’ll vow to keep the pills coming until Nick’s so far gone that he can’t help Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) or Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

Nick will struggle in his restraints, but Matt will make it clear that he’s got the power here and that he’s going to take Nick to the basement below rock bottom.

In the end, Matt will predict Nick’s going to be too wrecked and wasted to do anything about it when he goes after Nick’s loved ones.

Back in Genoa City, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will confront Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) over Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) yacht ordeal, but Victor will refuse to take any responsibility for it.

After Kyle calls Victor a coward, Victor will urge him to watch his language.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will take her turn with Victor next, but he’ll refuse to admit he went too far and will fume over her being a backstabber.

At Society, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will seek confirmation from Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) that she moved out of the Abbott mansion and left Jack.

Diane will explain all the yacht drama and blame Victor before slamming Michael for not turning against him.

Michael will hate what Diane’s going through and try to nudge her forward forgiveness, but she’ll be too angry and heartbroken.

Once Kyle makes it home, he’ll vent to Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) about his run-in with Victor and worry Diane may not be able to get past all this.

At Crimson Lights, Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will bail on the Barcelona trip because she’ll want to stay close in case Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) needs her.

Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will understand and hug Tessa as Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) enters.

Phyllis will grill Daniel about his connection to Tessa once they’re alone, but Daniel will suggest it’s none of her business.

After Phyllis tries to offer Daniel a division at Summers Conglomerate, he’ll turn her down.

Daniel will maintain that until Newman Enterprises goes back to its rightful owners, they have nothing to talk about.

On Monday’s Y&R episode, Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will comfort Phyllis, who’ll realize she may never get Daniel’s forgiveness unless she gives up Newman Enterprises.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis will have to make some tough choices as this storyline moves along, so stay tuned for more news on her future.
