The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) may need some comforting in the coming weeks.
Sharon has already been dealing with a lot thanks to this whole situation with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and Mariah Copeland’s (Camryn Grimes) psychiatric facility stint.
On top of all that, Sharon has been worrying about Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and his drug issues.
Nick will give Sharon another reason to fret when he keels over due to his fentanyl use in the May 27 episode.
In the aftermath, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will push Nick to truly get a grip on his drug problems.
The only way Nick can do that is if he gets serious about rehab.
That could mean that Nick will do more than just an outpatient program.
Nick may face pressure to do an inpatient program instead, especially since he’ll be less likely to sneak pills and can focus on getting healthy without distractions.
Regardless, Nick has to concentrate on himself right now if he’s going to be the best version of himself.
Sharon and Nick’s next love story chapter keeps getting stalled, so that could mean bad news for their chances as a couple.
Y&R may be delaying this reunion for a reason if they don’t actually intend to pull the trigger.
Sharon and Nick might be headed down different romantic paths entirely in the end.
If that’s the case, now might be a good time for Sharon to start leaning on a new man.
Since we know Detective James Burrow (Matt Cohen) will be back on-screen soon, he seems like the perfect fit.
Sharon and Detective Burrow have already had scenes that felt like a chemistry test.
It seemed like James and Sharon passed with flying colors, so maybe he could be her new love interest now that he’s returning.
Detective Burrow handled the Mariah kidnapper drama delicately and was a nice source of support for Sharon.
Now Y&R could build on that by letting James serve as a shoulder to cry on while Sharon’s feeling helpless over Nick.
It could lead to feelings developing between Sharon and Detective Burrow, so that could complicate things once Nick’s out of rehab and ready to reenter the romantic picture.
