On tonight’s Tracker episode, one of Randy’s best friends went missing. His name is Simon Boyce. He was currently on house arrest. He hacked an insurance company and moved money into people’s accounts. He was a modern day Robin Hood. What he did was deemed a federal crime so he was facing serious charges.
Simon wasn’t allowed the internet when he was released. He was forced to go analogue. He was down to a flip phone. It made no sense why Simon would suddenly disappear. Randy was contacted by Simon’s mother and she said that Simon was gone. She was worried that his release would get revoked if they didn’t find him in time.
Simon has always been a troublemaker. His own mother said he was impulsive. Simon had called Randy a week before he disappeared and Randy missed it, but he never returned the phone call. He was left kicking himself once Simon’s mom called worried. Randy brought in his friends to help.
He had Colter helping locate Simon. He had Reenie prepared to defend Simon in court if necessary. Simon had a public defender. Sometimes a defendant can get lucky with those and at other times it was scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Simon was stuck at home all day. He eventually got bored. They found signs that he tested the full reach of his ankle monitor around his property.
He also ditched the monitor in a bush right on the property line. He either did it himself or someone forced him into it. They tracked down who gave him the device to leave the ankle monitor behind. It was a sketchy friend of his and former roommate by the name of Bill Henderson. Randy recognized him instantly when he saw him. Bill helped Simon get some essentials.
He couldn’t give him cable. So, he brought cable to him. He gave Simon a drone with a camera. Simon used it to spy on his neighbors and one such spying incident helped him figure out a neighbor had abducted a woman. There was a chance that Simon escaped to find her or that he too got abducted.
They saw the footage from the event. The drone got close enough that it was spotted. It got shot at. It crashed and so Colter and Randy went to the area hoping to find a sign from Simon. Colter told Randy to stay in the truck. He said he’d look alone. Randy just couldn’t sit still and he left to find drone pieces in the grass. And he was caught by another neighbor.
This other guy seemed helpful. Randy had no reason to distrust him. Randy said he was looking for his friend and the guy invited him inside. He said he found the downed drone.
He thought it was some pervert flying it. He threw it in his trash inside. Randy had no reason to suspect him and so the man almost got him killed when his partner showed up. It’s a good thing Colter returned to the truck to find Randy gone. He went after Randy. He ended up saving his life and he knocked out the man going by the nickname of Stone.
The two men had apparently abducted a wealthy woman. They did this as a means of getting her husband to pay a ransom. Problem was that the husband refused to pay.
He actually texted back “go ahead and kill her” when they sent him the ransom video. His wife was bleeding out from a leg injury and had a busted lip. She said the men had hurt her. Her husband didn’t care. Randy couldn’t identify the husband. He then did his best to identify the wife from the ransom video. The men that took her no longer had her. She escaped.
Thanks to Simon.
Simon went after her. He used the drone to find out where she was. He then broke into the house and got her out without the kidnappers seeing because they were looking for whoever sent the drone. Only Simon found himself in a lot more trouble once he rescued Bruna.
Her full name was Bruna Pryor. She was the wife of Leon Pryor. He was a fentanyl dealer that killed a cop and went underground. The fact that his wife got captured by kidnappers didn’t upset him in the slightest. He was glad of an excuse to get rid of her. Bruna knew that and that’s why she didn’t return to her husband.
Once Simon freed her, she had him take her to an apartment off the books. Colter and Randy found out all about this. They found the apartment under the couple’s alias. They went there and they found a dead Bill. Simon had called Bill for help and Bruna killed his friend.
Simon was just trying to help her. She still pulled a gun on him. Bruna forced Simon to drive to her husband’s location so that she could kill him. She knocked out Simon after he drove. Bruna and Leon were going to kill each other when Colter walked in. He shot Leon. And he called 911 for Bruna.
Reenie also got Simon a plea deal. She showed that he was a pillar of the community. He helped save a woman that was abducted and he brought down the Pryors drug business.
Reenie was going to get him the best deal possible. And she let Colter check in on her because he noticed she’s been off.
She wouldn’t say why, but she did let him distract her from her worries.
THE END!
