In tonight’s Watson episode, Dr. John Watson realized he has been hallucinating Sherlock Holmes all along. He even knew why he was seeing him again. He earned himself a traumatic brain injury when he went over that waterfall. He’s been lowering his meds lately and his imagination created Holmes as a means of telling him no.

He needs those meds. He was going back on them when his girlfriend called. She needed his help with a patient. Laila said a desperate mom came to her with a very sick daughter. First, Shelly said Cora has cancer. She later admitted she doesn’t know what Cora has. She just knows that Cora is sick.

They didn’t have an appointment. Laila still saw them. She felt bad for a nine year old little girl with cancer. She ran some tests and both she and Watson looked them over.

Cora doesn’t have cancer. She’s never been treated for cancer. She does have a fever as well as some pain on her left side. Laila had Watson check her over. The pain was real. The fever was real. They began asking Cora some questions and those questions didn’t sit right with her mother. Shelly tried to answer for Cora. And under the slightest push back from the doctors, she ran off.

Shelly left Cora in the hospital. She claimed she was going to the bathroom and headed straight for the exits. Laila had followed her. Cora had mentioned she liked hanging out with her sister, Abby. She and Abby were homeschooled. They didn’t go outside. Cora’s mom made her lie about going on vacations.

Shelly might even have been lying about Cora’s father. He allegedly left years ago. She did say his name was jack Davis. Shelly kept the name and gave it to Cora. She also never mentioned where was Abby when her only caregiver was at the hospital.

The doctors knew from Cora that Abby does exist. They didn’t just know where she was. Cora has never been outside before. It was revealed to them when they found out she burns quite heavily in the sun. They kept Cora in the hospital as they called CPS. Detective Lestrande agreed to go look for Shelly and Abby.

They found a real address. Shelly had lied on the file she gave them. By time cops showed up, Shelly was gone with Abby. Sasha and Stephens checked out the house. There was no electricity. No running water. Shelly grew her own food. This wasn’t abuse

This was extreme, yes. It was also something that Cora missed. She burned in the sun and she said her mommy was right that the outside world was dangerous. She no longer believed the doctors. Cora didn’t understand she was sick because she’s never been exposed to the outside world

. She wasn’t sure about doctors or tests. The tests couldn’t find what was wrong with her so Watson decided to channel Holmes again. He didn’t go off his meds. He just reached out to his own detective instinct.

It’s what Holmes taught him all those years ago. It’s how Watson has been solving cases that he thought Holmes solved. He was a detective himself and he didn’t even need the skills to find Shelly because she came to them. She disguised herself as a nurse. She tried to get Cora back. Watson stopped her.

He’s been staying in Cora’s room trying to find out how he can help her when the whole thing kicked off. He got Shelly away from Watson. She brought out a scalpel. He talked her down. Shelly has been hearing voices that said everything was dangerous.

No one would believe her. She then took her kids off the grid and hasn’t looked back. Now, Watson knows she’s sick. He promised to help her and her daughters. He got her to reveal that Abby was hidden in a secret room at their house. The police didn’t know about their condition.

One that even Shelly shared because she hasn’t been out in the sun either. It’s how Watson identified her in spite of her mask. Her skin had burned in the sun. The police brought Abby out into the sun and Watson made sure he was on the scene to stop them before Abby got seriously hurt.

Once the sun went down, Abby was brought to the hospital. She was reunited with Cora. Watson still doesn’t know why all three burned in the sun. Its one thing that the kids had never been exposed to it. There’s no reasoning for why Shelly reacted to it as well. Shelly was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenic delusions.

She wants to take care of her children and she can’t. She instead gave Watson a name on who can. She told them about her ex’s sister. Elena agreed to watch the girls until Shelly gets better.

With proper supervision, Shelly can still be a part of her children’s lives. Watson also found out what was wrong. They were eating too much celery. It was poisoning them. They needed to stop eating it and in time they can go back out into the sun. Watson later went with Laila to grab the kids’ stuffed toys from their house.

They missed their comfort toys. They didn’t sleep properly without it so they were driving back with the toys when Watson heard Holmes again. It freaked him out. He didn’t see the deer in the road. And the car flipped before crashing into a ravine.

And that’s how they left things.

THE END!
