The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Friday, January 8, tease that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will talk happily in their suite at the Grand Phoenix after making love. Nate will get a text from Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) wanting to meet, and Elena will urge him to go.
Meanwhile, over in Amanda Sinclair’s (Mishael Morgan) suite, Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) will barge in and throw threats around, saying that Amanda needs to stop pursuing Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey).
Amanda will reel as Imani forcefully accuses her of being a con artist trying to take advantage of the Benedict family.
Amanda angrily will insist that Imani’s threats need to stop, and she’ll say that she doesn’t want the family’s money – she just wants answers. Imani will insist that Naya doesn’t want to talk with Amanda, and that Naya doesn’t have any other children.
Amanda will say that she’s not a con artist, and that she’s a respected attorney.
Imani will say that Amanda’s internet presence had obviously been scrubbed, and Amanda will say that’s because she was being stalked. Imani will threaten Amanda again, saying that she could ruin Amanda’s life – she’s done it before. Imani will then walk out on Amanda, who will be furious.
Down in the lobby, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will be on her way out with a suitcase when she bumps into Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Sally will probe to see where Summer is going, but Summer won’t spill that she’s headed to Los Angeles.
Later, Sally will have a drink with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), who will innocently divulge that Summer’s headed to Los Angeles to meet with Spencer Publications.
Sally will immediately worry that Summer is up to something, and she’ll send a lengthy text to Summer referencing her trip to Los Angeles and telling Summer to say hello to the Spencers for her if she happens to run into them.
At Chancellor Communications, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will tell Lily that they need to get to Seattle for a big acquisition – a healthcare resource website that they want to buy. Lily will go to talk with Nate about being the face of the website, and Billy will say that he’ll take care of their flight arrangements.
On the Jabot jet, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will be waiting to take off for Los Angeles when Billy rushes onto the plane. Billy will announce that he and a companion will be taking the plane to Seattle, but Kyle will say that they’re headed to Los Angeles.
Billy will say he talked to the pilot and the jet can make two stops.
Summer will arrive on the plane, and she’ll wonder what Billy’s doing there. Kyle will explain that Billy is hitching a ride, and Summer won’t like it, but she’ll say that they can make it work. Billy will say that they’re waiting for one more passenger.
At Society, Lily will meet with Nate, and she’ll explain that the “Ask MD Now” website would soon belong to Chancellor Communications, and that she wants him to be the face of the brand. Nate will balk, but Lily will convince him to think about it.
Lily will then head to the Jabot jet, and the jet will take off. Summer will get the text from Sally referencing Spencer Publications, and she’ll realize that Sally’s onto her. Lily and Billy will flirt via text, and Summer will continue to obsess over Sally’s text.
At Crimson Lights, Elena will bump into Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). The two will have a cordial conversation, and Elena will share that she’s moved on. Devon will realize that Elena is with Nate now, and Devon will indicate that he doesn’t want to go on leveling blame.
Elena will say something about Amanda, and Devon will insist that they’re just friends. Elena won’t look convinced. Devon will say that he’ll try not to be jealous of Elena and Nate, and both he and Elena will be glad that they talked.
Devon will head over to the Grand Phoenix, where he’ll hear all about Amanda’s ordeal with Imani. Amanda will be livid, and she’ll jump to all sorts of conclusions about how Naya might have sent Imani there to fight her battles.
Devon will try to calm Amanda down, but she’ll say that she’s going to take matters into her own hands.
Devon will wonder what that means, and Amanda will insist that she’s going to meet Naya…today. Devon won’t think that’s a good idea, and Amanda will say that she’s going to Wilmette to talk with Naya right now. Amanda will rush out of the room, leaving Devon in her dust.
In Nate and Elena’s suite, Elena will share about her meeting with Devon earlier, and Nate will say that he’s mulling over a job offer from Lily. Elena will think that sounds like a great opportunity, and she and Nate will have some flirty fun as Elena records Devon talking about eating right and staying healthy.
Down in the lobby, Sally will call her sister Coco Spectra (Courtney Grosbeck) saying that things aren’t going well, and that Summer and Kyle are on their way to Los Angeles and that it’s obvious why.
Sally will lament that Summer’s going to Spencer Publications and that she can’t find out what happened in Los Angeles.
Back on the Jabot jet, Lily will get a text from Nate saying that he needs more time to think about the job offer. The pilot will come on the intercom, saying that they all need to buckle up for turbulence, which will hit hard, scaring everyone on the plane.
Finally, at Naya’s home in Wilmette, Amanda will ring the doorbell and obnoxiously knock on the door, yelling at Naya to open up. Amanda will cause a big ruckus, and eventually, Naya will open the door. Naya and Amanda will come face to face for the first time.
