General Hospital Recap: Friday, March 17 – Carly Cries Over Sonny’s Crisis – Dex’s Intruder Scare – Lucy Escapes

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, March 17, reveals that Laura Collins (Genie Francis) showed up at the safe house while Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was in the bedroom trying to crack the Ice Princess code.

Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) was getting on Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) nerves and hoped Laura had news that would end this nightmare.

Unfortunately, Laura couldn’t promise Lucy’s freedom yet, but she did have some positive updates.

Laura explained that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) was on edge and had accused her of trying to strip him of power while humiliating him.

That led to talk about Victor’s medical issue and how it hopefully wouldn’t be much longer until they stopped him.

Lucy was upset since she wanted to get back for the Nurses Ball, but Laura distracted her with a letter from Martin Grey (Michael E. Grey).

After Lucy claimed she was going to read the letter in a warm bath, Laura and Valentin had a nice heart-to-heart alone.

In Robert Scorpio’s (Tristan Rogers) office, Deputy Mayor Eileen Ashby (Heather Mazur) made some pics from the unredacted file she was after.

Once Eileen met up with Victor at GH, he was pleased to learn Robert still had the necklace and was keeping it in an evidence locker at the PCPD.

Victor made it clear that Eileen still had to keep taking orders and instructed her to get the necklace out of the locker for him.

Later, Victor sat at the Metro Court bar and called someone to see how Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) recovery had progressed following the fire.

Once the elevator doors opened, Lucy got off wearing glasses and had her hair up in an attempt to disguise herself.

Meanwhile, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) convinced Robert to drop the charges against Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) for now since all the victims were on board.

The charges could always be refiled when Esme could no longer claim traumatic memory loss.

Diane had no doubt that the justice system would one day hold Esme accountable.

Until then, Diane invited Robert to join her at the hatchet range to blow off some steam.

Robert also met with Eileen, who said Victor bought what was in the file – though he seemed suspicious about the night Holly and the necklace supposedly went up in flames.

After Robert said he anticipated that, he suggested moving on to phase two.

At Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) place, she welcomed Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) for a visit and admitted she was seeing new sides of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) due to the mob threat.

Phyllis asked if Nina could sustain the relationship after seeing all those sides, so Nina said she she also had a daughter and grandchildren to think about now.

Once Phyllis acknowledged that not everyone was cut out to be part of that dangerous world, Nina questioned if Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) had been cut out for it.

At Sonny’s penthouse, Carly showed up with Donna Corinthos (Arya & Ayla Dormiani) after missing Sonny’s call earlier about not bringing her. Due to the extra guards and Dex’s presence, Carly was immediately on high alert.

Dex met Donna and grunted a bit as he used his shoulder, so Carly looked concerned over that, too.

Once Carly spoke with Sonny alone, he told her about the warehouse incident and promised to handle the threat to his life.

However, Carly didn’t think Sonny could guarantee anything and worried about the last time she had to tell the girls he was never coming home.

Sonny did his best to reassure Carly, who had tears in her eyes when Nina walked in.

When Dex returned home to gather some belongings, he drew his weapon thinking there was an intruder.

It turned out to be an alarmed Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), who grilled Dex and checked his wound after hearing about the shooting.

Dex credited Sonny with saving his life and explained how it all went down. That left Josslyn thinking it almost sounded like Dex admired Sonny.

General Hospital spoilers say Dex’s view of Sonny could be changing, so stay tuned to see how that might affect his plot with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell).
