The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Friday, May 26, reveals that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) asked if it was true what Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) said about Hope Spencer’s (Annika Noelle) feelings for Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).
Hope felt accused and ambushed, but Liam said he told Steffy that the idea was ridiculous and that she must’ve misinterpreted things.
Liam pointed out that he said there’d never been anything but friendship between Hope and Thomas, so Hope claimed he was right about that.
At the same time, Liam knew Steffy wasn’t a gossip and that she had no reason to target their marriage.
Hope argued that’s exactly what Steffy was doing and scoffed at the idea that she’d corrupt Thomas.
Liam mentioned what Steffy told him about Hope caressing Thomas’ hands and looking into his eyes like she had feelings for him.
Hope insisted nothing was going on with Thomas, but Liam worried that maybe she was in denial.
However, Hope thought it was insulting for Liam to act like Steffy knew best when it came to how Hope felt.
Liam refused to walk on eggshells when it came to this subject since it was too dangerous, but Hope didn’t think there was any danger at all.
Nothing could convince Liam that Thomas wasn’t a threat except the one thing that Hope said she was going to do a long time ago.
“Stop working with him! Stop!” Liam shouted to Hope, who refused to let him dictate how she ran her line.
Liam insisted this wasn’t about Hope’s career and tried to bring the focus back to their marriage, but Hope couldn’t push Douglas Forrester’s (Henry Joseph Samiri) father away.
After Liam yelled about how Thomas kept Beth Spencer from them, Hope made it clear that Thomas wasn’t a threat anymore.
Liam could either accept that or let it go according to Hope.
It bothered Hope that Liam always believed everyone else and didn’t trust her, but Liam said this was the first time he was given a reason not to trust her.
Liam needed a straight answer about whether Hope had feelings for Thomas, so she touched his face tenderly and said the answer was no.
Hope gushed over the beautiful life she’d built with Liam and professed her love to only him.
As Hope embraced Liam and cried that she was sorry, she looked distraught over his shoulder.
At Forrester Creations on Friday’s B&B episode, Thomas was mulling over some close moments he’d shared with Hope when RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) appeared.
RJ suggested that when someone zoned out like Thomas had been doing, it usually involved thinking about a girl.
After RJ said he was looking for Hope, he praised Thomas for getting along with her and was happy about the improvements in his brother’s life.
At the cliff house, Steffy admitted to John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) that she told Liam about suspecting Hope had feelings for Thomas.
Finn clearly thought that was a bad idea, but Steffy refused to let Hope undermine Thomas’ progress and had to defend her brother to Liam.
Even so, Finn warned that was like dropping a bomb in the middle of Liam and Hope’s marriage.
Steffy said that was never her intention, but she felt Liam deserved to know Hope was the one to be concerned about, not Thomas.
